Devy Summer Scouting Series: Running Backs, Part One

We scout some of the top backs who could enter the NFL in the 2024 Draft.

Blake Corum

The summer scouting series continues with the first group of top-ranked running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft class.

In my first look at this class, it is evident that there is no Bijan Robinson-level type talent but it is solid with plenty of depth. The 2023 NFL Draft saw only one running back go in the second round, but I do not believe that will be the case next spring. This class has a variety of ball carriers who have the talent to succeed in the NFL and if given the opportunity, will have the chance to contribute immediately.

Let’s get started.

Blake Corum, Michigan - 508 210; Sr

Corum is a big man in a small man’s body. However, he is compact and put together, and strong throughout. He can attack and press the line of scrimmage, and displayed explosive short-area quickness making sharp, lateral cuts. He also has the burst to get upfield in a hurry. For a smaller frame, he runs through arm tackles at every level, and can also shake linebackers with quickness and agility at the second level.
