20/20 Interview with Jon Morfoot

The DLF Team

This week, DLF graphic designer and dog lover, Jon Morfoot, spent a few minutes answering some questions so you could learn a little more about him. Enjoy!

Where are you from?

Essex, UK

What do you do for your regular job?

Website management, online marketing, graphic & website design.

What is the worst job you have ever had?

When I was at school I had a part-time job washing up in a local restaurant.

What is the best job you have ever had?

That would be a toss-up between my previous and current jobs. In my previous job, I worked as a Search Marketing manager for a gift experience company and so got to go on several of their experience days including a Top Gun flight experience, several different driving days, indoor skydiving to name a few. I now work for myself which means I can be much more flexible with my hours which allowed me to spend more time with my son whilst he was going through school & college.

What do you consider your dream job?

I’m going to say, dog behaviorist. I love dogs and have 3 rescue dogs myself. It would be very rewarding to help dogs progress through any issues they have.

How long have you been in the industry?

For around 2 1/2 years.

How did you get your break into fantasy football?

When my good friend and league mate Jack Humphrey asked if I could help with building a website and designing graphics for his Fantasy Football Podcast Kickers Matter.

What tool do you use the most on DLF?

This would probably be either the College Market Share App or NFL Draft Prospects videos when I’m looking into players to target in devy leagues or rookie drafts.

What tool do you use the most outside of DLF?

Player Profiler if I’m looking for a quick glance at a player’s BOA etc.

Who was the best sleeper you pegged that broke out?

I’m more a graphic designer than a fantasy analyst but I did pick up a lot of shares of James Robinson before the hype started.

Who was your biggest whiff?

Being a UW fan I was keen on John Ross but this would probably have to be Hakeem Butler who I had as my WR1 in the 2019 class.

What is the worst trade you have made?

I can’t remember the exact trade but in 2018 I traded up to the 1.01 in a 16 team startup to draft Le’Veon Bell. Between him sitting out and the picks I had given up I ended up going into a rebuild 6 games into the season.

Who is your favorite underfollowed Twitter account?

@JackHumphreyKM. On top of putting out his own content, he does a lot of work promoting and fundraising for a variety of different charities.

Who is your favorite NFL team?

Dallas Cowboys after watching them play the Detroit Lions in the American Bowl at the old Wembley Stadium in 1993.

Who is your favorite college football team?

Washington (UW)

Who was your favorite player growing up?

Emmitt Smith

Who is your favorite player of all time?

Emmitt Smith

What other hobbies or passions do you have outside of fantasy football?

Spending time with my family and friends, taking my dogs out for walks or running them on the scooter or rig when the weather is not too hot.

What are some of your favorite movies?

The Godfather, Scarface, Casino, Above The Rim, Friday, Monty Python films to name just a few.

Who are some of your favorite bands?

Tupac, Biggie, Snoop, Cypress Hill, Rage Against The Machine, DMX, Jadakiss, NAS, and many more.
