Dynasty Scouts Conference Review: SEC and Big 12
With college football in full swing, we’ll be bringing you a review each and every week. These recaps will feature sections for “Premier Conference Performer,” “Rising Players,” “Falling Players,” and a special Freshman spotlight. These weekly reviews will keep you up-to-date on all the happenings in devy leagues and allow you to keep tabs on future dynasty league assets. By the time the NFL Draft rolls around, you won’t see too many strangers.
SEC
Premier Conference Performer
Derrick Henry, RB Alabama (Junior)
22 carries, 204 yards, two touchdowns, one catch, 0 yards vs Mississippi State
As the season has worn on, Henry has seemingly gotten stronger. The Tide seem to peaking heading into the final month of the season and seem to be a lock to make the playoffs.

Rising Players
Malachi Dupre, WR LSU (Sophomore)
Eight catches, 109 yards, one touchdown vs. Arkansas
The Tigers might have lost, but that was not on Dupre. He averaged over 13.6 yards per reception and had twice as many catches as anyone else on the team.
Alex Collins, RB Arkansas (Junior)
16 carries, 141 yards, two touchdowns vs. LSU
Collins was the key cog in the Razorbacks upset of LSU. He has been up and down a bit this season, but should be an early-round selection in the draft.
Alvin Kamara, RB Tennessee (Sophomore)
15 carries, 127 yards, two touchdowns, one catch, five yards vs. North Texas
He had his second-best game of the season, by 17 yards, Saturday. Granted it was against a lesser opponent, but he got plenty of chances and maximized those opportunities.
Falling Players
De’Runnya Wilson, WR Mississippi State (Junior)
3 catches, 38 yards vs. Alabama
Wilson couldn’t get anything going Saturday, then added injury to insult as he was carted off the field with an apparent neck injury. Reports following the game said he was going to be ok though.
Jeremy Johnson, QB Auburn (Junior)
14/22 61 yards, one interception, seven carries, 31 yards vs. Georgia
He earned back the starting job, but looked ugly Saturday. 2.8 yards per completion simply isn’t going to get it done at any level, in any offense.
Greyson Lambert, QB Georgia (Junior)
12/17 97 yards, Four carries, two yards vs. Auburn
This game set back quarterbacking at least 25 years. Neither Lambert nor Johnson looked good though the Bulldogs picked up the win. Georgia’s offense has stalled since Nick Chubb’s injury.
Freshman Spotlight
Kyler Murray, QB Texas A&M
22/39 191 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions, seven carries, 50 yards
Murray lit it up through the air mostly finding fellow freshman Christian Kirk.
Big 12
Premier Conference Performer
Baker Mayfield, QB Oklahoma (Junior)
24/34 270 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, 15 carries, 76 yards, one touchdown vs. Baylor
Mayfield stared down a popular playoff choice and came out on top. He kept his cool, especially in the fourth quarter with the game on the line, throwing the game-winning touchdown with four minutes to play.
Rising Players
Marcell Ateman, WR Oklahoma State (Junior)
Eight catches, 132 yards, one touchdown, one carry, one yard vs. Iowa State
He turned in his best day of the season by far and helped the Cowboys stay undefeated. They face Baylor and Oklahoma to close out the season. If they win both of those, they could be looking at a playoff berth.
Aaron Green, RB TCU (Senior)
30 carries, 177 yards, three catches, 16 yards vs. Kansas
TCU was already missing No. 1 wideout Josh Doctson, then lost quarterback Trevone Boykin early, leaving the burden of carrying the offense to Green. He responded with a big day in a win, even without scoring.
Samaje Perine, RB Oklahoma (Sophomore)
28 carries, 166 yards, two touchdowns, one catch, six yards vs. Baylor
Perine had a big day against an opponent that can crank out points by the truckload. He provided the balance to Mayfield’s aerial attack.
DeAndre Washington, RB Texas Tech (Senior)
27 carries, 248 yards, three touchdowns, four catches, 36 yards vs. Kansas State
The Red Raiders is normally thought of as a pass-happy attack, but Washington disproved that myth with his best game of the season. His 248 yards were the fifth time he has passed 100 this season.
Falling Players
Corey Coleman, WR Baylor (Junior)
Three catches, 51 yards
In a big game against a big-time opponent, Coleman had his lowest output of the season.
Jerrod Heard, QB Texas (Freshman)
11/18 162 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, 12 carries, 17 yards vs. West Virginia
He’s on this list mostly for the low rushing total, a category he usually excels in. If Heard continues to progress, he should have a bright future.
Jarrett Stidham, QB Baylor (Freshman)
16/27 257 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, 10 carries, seven yards vs. Oklahoma
Stidham makes this list mostly for his interception late in the fourth quarter that cost the Bears the game.
Freshman Spotlight
Shaun Nixon, RB/WR TCU
Seven catches, 78 yards, one touchdown vs. Kansas
The freshman was the leading receiver in a win. His long reception accounted for 42 of his 78 yards.
