Dynasty Conference Review: PAC-12 and Around the Nation
With college football in full swing, we’ll be bringing you a review each and every week. These recaps will feature sections for “Premier Conference Performer,” “Rising Players,” “Falling Players” and a special Freshman spotlight. These weekly reviews will keep you up-to-date on all the happenings in devy leagues and allow you to keep tabs on future dynasty league assets. By the time the NFL Draft rolls around, you won’t see too many strangers.

Premier Conference Performer
Mike Berkovici, QB Washington State (Senior)
32/53 passing, 398 yards, five touchdowns, two interceptions, 16 rushes, 58 yards, one touchdown vs. Oregon
Berkovici completed 60 percent passes for 315 yards and five touchdowns. The two negatives is that he also threw two interceptions, and the Sun Devils lost to Oregon. He also hit five different receivers for scores. His longest touchdown came from 39 yards as Gary Chambers was streaking down the left sideline. His other four touchdowns went to Tim White, Devin Lucien, Kody Kohl, and Demario Richard. Berkovici also added to the ground game as he rushed for 58 yards on 15 carries including an 18-yard touchdown. He took the draw up the middle and bobbed and weaved making defenders miss for the score. He has also added four touchdowns on the run.

Rising Players
Vernon Adams Jr, QB Oregon (Senior)
23/40 passing, 315 yards, four touchdowns, one interception vs. Arizona State
Vernon Adams along with Royce Freeman did a lot of work to pull off the victory against Arizona State. Adams threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns with only one interception in 40 attempts. Adams hasn’t done much this season after taking over for Marcus Mariota as his 1,168 yards passing, and ten touchdowns suggest. He has missed three games, however. This was the biggest game this season for the senior as he had the most yards and touchdowns against Arizona State and now have won two straight games and three of four. Adams connected with four different players for touchdowns. Dwayne Stanford had two scores while Bralon Addison and Darren Carrington each had one. His longest touchdown came on a fourth-and-1, where he found Carrington wide open to run untouched into the end zone.
Paul Perkins, RB UCLA (Junior)
12 carries 118 yards, one touchdown, four catches, 41 yards, one touchdown vs. Colorado
Paul Perkins blasted 118 yards and one touchdown while catching four passes for 41 yards and a score. His touchdown was an 82-yard run up the right tackle spot splitting two defenders, and nobody could catch him. His first score, however, came on a 31-yard pass from Josh Rosen, which may even be more impressive than his 82-yard run. He made all the cuts, jukes, and moves he could muster on a screen pass to score. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:14018560 On the season Perkins has 872 rushing yards on 137 attempts for nine touchdowns. He also has 17 receptions for 166-yards and one touchdown.
Darren Carrington, WR Oregon (Sophomore)
Five catches, 107 yards, one touchdown vs. Arizona State
The sophomore scored once to go along with his five receptions and 107-yards against Arizona State. Carrington’s touchdown came from 39 yards out as he blazed by the defensive back on the left sidelines and Vernon Adams Jr hit him wide open at the 10-yard line wide-open and he nearly walked it in from there. Carrington played in his second game this season as last week he caught five passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. The Ducks are now on a two-game winning streak.
Falling Players
Sefo Liufau, QB Colorado (Junior)
37/57 passing, 312 passing yards, zero touchdowns, two interceptions, 15 carries, 45 yards vs. UCLA
There is no doubting Liufau’s completion percentage of 64.9 percent especially when a player attempts 57 passes. The issue is that none of them went for touchdowns even though he threw for 312 yards, and two went for interceptions. Liufau’s quarterback rating dropped to 42.6 percent that is just unacceptable and the main reason the Buffaloes lost to the Bruins. The junior has played mediocre all season, as his 2,182-yards passing with nine touchdowns and five interceptions support. He has done some good things with his legs and has rushed for five touchdowns.
Daniel Lasco, RB California (Senior)
15 carries, 64 yards, one touchdown vs. USC
Daniel Lasco had a tough day against the USC defense and California lost their third game in a row. Lasco rushed for 64-yards on 15 carries, but his 22-yard run made his numbers look better than what they are on an average run basis. On the day, he averaged 4.3-yards per carry, but if you take those 22 yards away, he only averaged just three yards a carry. His touchdown came from six yards out. On the season, Lasco has 53 rushing attempts for 242 yards and three touchdowns. Cal will try to get back in the winners circle when they face Oregon on the road.
Thomas Duarte, WR UCLA (Junior)
Three catches, 61 yards, zero touchdowns vs. Colorado
Thomas Duarte is second on the team in both receptions and yards, but he his first with touchdowns. Unfortunately, he couldn’t catch a touchdown, and finished third in receptions and second in yards on the squad when facing Colorado. Duarte strongest reception on the day went for 38 yards, so his other two receptions gained only 23 yards total, not his best effort as he averages 20.3 yards per reception. His last two games he finished with 15 receptions for 215 yards and two touchdowns, and he had scored in four straight games until meeting up with Colorado. On the season, Duarte has 36 receptions for 550 yards and six touchdowns. He will try to bounce back as the Bruins take on Oregon State on the road.
Freshman Spotlight
Jake Browning, QB Washington
12/20 passing, 216 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions, five carries, seven yards, one touchdown vs. Arizona
Even though Jake Browning didn’t throw for many yards he did put up a bunch of touchdowns. Browning threw for four touchdowns and ran for one as well. All four touchdowns went to four separate receivers, and he connected with ten different players. Browning longest touchdown was a 31-yard pass to Dante Pettis. He also hit Dwayne Washington, Joshua Perkins, and Branden Lenius for scores. His touchdown run came from 12-yards out. On the season, Browning has 1,595-yards passing with ten touchdowns and five interceptions.

Premier Nation Performer
Gunner Kiel, QB Cincinnati (Junior)
15/15 passing, 319 yards, five touchdowns vs. UCF
Gunner Kiel is on a tear. Not only did he take apart UCF defense, but he was perfect in doing so. He has established himself after missing two games. Kiel has thrown for 646 yards and seven touchdowns without an interception in his last two contests. On the season, he has 1,514 yards with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. Kiel hit three different players for touchdowns. Johnny Holton and Shaq Washington finished with two each while Chris Moore caught one. Nearly all his touchdowns went to wide open receivers who took the pass and went the distance for the score.
Rising
Jeff Driskell, QB Louisiana Tech (Senior)
17/26 passing, 320 passing yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions vs. Rice
It didn’t take long for Driskell to throw for a touchdown. Five plays to be exact and less than two minutes. He found Trent Taylor for a 47-yard pass for Taylor’s first touchdown of the game. Taylor would score later from 10 yards out. Driskell was also able to hit Carlos Henderson for two scores as well. Henderson’s touchdowns came from 14- and 24-yards out. In the last two games, Driskell has thrown for 611 yards and six touchdowns without throwing an interception and has led Louisiana Tech to two-straight victories. On the season, Driskell has 2,729 passing yards and 19 touchdowns with just four interceptions.
Anthony Wales, RB Western Kentucky (Junior)
13 carries, 167 yards, three touchdowns, one catch, 28 yards, zero touchdowns vs. Old Dominion
The junior ran over the Old Dominion defense. On just 13 carries, he had 167-yards and four touchdowns. His longest run was for 47 yards and finished with an 11.6 yards per carry average. He had multiple touchdowns that went for 44+ yards and had a 19 and one-yard runs. On the season, Wales has 552 yards on 71 attempts and now has six touchdowns on the season. He also has contributed to the receiving game with 12 catches 90 yards and two touchdowns.
Davonte Allen, WR Marshall (Senior)
12 catches, 232 yards, one touchdown vs. Charlotte
Allen had the best game of his season. His highest reception total had been five, and the most yards he has had is 59, he obliterated those numbers against Charlotte. He scored for the fourth time this season and finished with 12 receptions and 232 yards. Allen’s touchdown was a 64-yard pass from Chase Litton. On the season now he has 38 receptions for 478 yards. Marshall is now 8-1 on the season, and 5-0 in the conference. They will travel to Middle Tennessee State and then take on Florida International at home.
Falling
James Summers, QB Eastern Carolina (Junior)
12/21 passing, 87 passing yards, no passing touchdowns, one interception vs. Connecticut
Summers completed over half his passes, but only for 87-yards on 12 completions. He did not throw for a touchdown and added to the misery with an interception. Summers isn’t much of a passer, as he has had only three games where he has had more than ten attempts, and his 21 tries was the most he has had all season. He does more with his scrambling ability, as he has more attempts running the ball than he does pass, and has more touchdowns as well. This week he had 12 rushes for just 18 yards.
C.J. Prosise, RB Notre Dame (Senior)
14 carries, 25 yards, zero touchdowns, five catches, 43 yards, zero touchdowns vs. Temple
Notre Dame won despite the boring performance from C.J. Proise. The senior only had 25 yards on 14 carries and had a long of 12. Which means his last 13 carries went for 13 yards. He saved his wreck of rushing day by catching five passes for 43 yards. Prosise has 129+ yards rushing in five games this season and is coming off back-to-back games where he rushed for a total of 272-yards and five touchdowns on 40 carries. On the season, he has 143 attempts with 947 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also has 23 receptions for 262 yards and one touchdown. He will try to bounce back against Pittsburgh next week.
Eddie Daugherty, WR Eastern Michigan (Freshman)
Three catches, 64 yards, zero touchdowns vs. Western Michigan
His three catches didn’t make much of a dent against Western Michigan, as they lost 58-28. Daugherty leads the Eagles in both receptions and yards, but he couldn’t lead anything when the Broncos draped coverage on him. His total running yards became inflated due to a long run of 48 yards. Daugherty two other receptions went for just 16 yards combined, not good for a player that averages 15.9 yards per reception. On the season, Daugherty has 31 receptions for 494 yards and three touchdowns.
Freshman Spotlight
Courtland Sutton, WR SMU
Eight catches, 165 yards, two touchdowns vs. Tulsa
The freshman has been an absolute beast this season. He has 38 receptions for 719 yards and nine touchdowns. This week against Tulsa, he showed why he is hard to contain. He scored two touchdowns and caught eight passes for 165 yards. Sutton has three 100-yard games this season. His first touchdown came on the opening drive of the game, as he caught a five-yard pass. While his second came in the second quarter as he boxed and used his body to block out the defender as he went up and caught the touchdown.
