Brandon Haye

The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers, we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market.

Situation

Name: Ja'Tavion Sanders

Position: Tight End

Pro Team: Carolina Panthers

College Team: Texas

Draft Status: Round four, 101st overall

Sanders was a top 30 overall prospect and the number one athlete in the 2021 class and chose Texas over Alabama. In his freshman year, he played in 12 games but did not receive a target when on offense. In his second year, he made an impact. Sanders caught 54 passes for 613 yards and five touchdowns.

He was poised for another big year in 2023 and even though he had fewer targets, catches, and touchdowns, he did increase his average yards per catch by four yards. In 2023, Sanders increased his work down the field. 51% of his targets were 10 or more yards down the field, compared to only 40% in 2022.
