I am curious why you are more interested in Luke than in Sam LaPorta. Sam went to an arguably better location that is lacking in offensive players, he was drafted before Luke, and he has more tape than Luke. Is this more due to opportunity cost to draft Sam vs Luke or do you think that Luke has a higher ceiling?

Hey Ryan! The cost difference certainly helps! I had Musgrave higher than LaPorta in the pre-draft process and the draft capital difference wasn’t enough to sway me. I think the Packers landing spot is actually a bit better than the Lions (Lions wasted Hockenson for years, he goes to Minnesota and is immediately what everyone hoped he’d be). It’s a toss up head to head for me, but their ADP says LaPorta is much more valuable than Musgrave. I certainly disagree with that.

After watching his college highlight clip, I’m a little concerned that he seems to go down easily to the first defender. For a big, strong, athletic guy, I expected to see him fight through contact, break tackles and earn extra yards quite a bit more than what I am seeing. Small sample size, okay, but is there cause for concern here?

Yeah that’s absolutely a concern. His YAC was pretty abysmal. Betting on his size/speed to overcome that with more coaching. He’s played so little football.
