I’d take that deal easily. If nothing else, you can trade Akers for much more than that when he returns to full health next year.

I would offer my future second as a rebuilding team, and I would sell that as “a future 2.01 pick”. That should be enticing.

If the Akers seller does not like that, then any middle of the road running back I had on my roster would do. Then I’d probably unload Akers for even more next off-season.

That is such a bad trade in your favor, I am not sure it is real. I would accept that trade before the offeror realizes his error.

Have both Ackers and Henderson on my team due to trade last season. Had every intention of releasing Ackers prior to our keeper deadline. Will probably keep both since I have some depth at running back and miss out on a rookie in our draft.

I guess I could approach the guy who purchased a terrible orphan in our league and literally his best player is Waller. Maybe I can convince him to take Akers for a 2022 first.

I think you’re vastly underestimating how far Akers’ value plummeted yesterday morning. Across the leagues I’m in/have awareness of, owners haven’t even been able to get a random first round pick, much less a player like Dobbins, who’s ADP was very close to Akers’ already. Also, as for how much value he regains? You said it yourself, Achilles are a terrible injury for RBs to come back to. If he’d torn his ACL he’d probably get most of his value back by next year. With the Achilles? I’d be shocked if his value ever fully recovers. Definitely wishing I’d added Xavier earlier!

1) Sorry to hear about your startup woes. That’s terrible.
2) I wrote this article just 20-30 minutes after the injury and asking across my league chats what they would pay for Akers. Everyone said “1st” and all Akers owners even declined that offer. 24 hours later, I think many people now realize how significant an achilles tear is for a RB, and so his value has dropped.
You’re not wrong, I just wrote my article too quickly. 🙂

I would not trade for him at any price with that injury. Just such a bad injury to have for a running back. He is a red flag medical player now for me. Just horrible for Cam Akers owners to try to sell him now. If you can sell. I suggest you do.
