Dynasty IDP Waiver Wire: Week 13

Interesting dilemma, as both are worthy of starting consideration. Speaking in a dynasty sense, I think Al-Shaair is the better player, but indeed his path is a bit blocked when both Warner and Dre Greenlaw are healthy. I don’t think that Greenlaw is playing this week (at least he hasn’t practiced so far), so Al-Shaair would be in line for near-full-time work next to Warner. Even with Kirksey back for Houston, Grugier-Hill seems locked into full-time snaps – especially with Cunningham now gone. So they’re both in that “second” LB spot for their teams.
Just looking at this week, I’d give Grugier-Hill a slight edge over Al-Shaair. Seattle went to a short-pass offense last week, and if they stick with that (it was successful), it plays into KGH’s strengths as a coverage defender.
So, not a totally straight-forward answer, but I’d lean KGH for this week (and certainly this season assuming Greenlaw returns for the 49ers). AAS has a little more appeal from a dynasty value perspective; he’s a FA this off-season and based on his play he could land a decent FA deal.
