The 2025 NFL Draft represented a down year for rookie wide receivers. The talent in this group is a bit underwhelming compared to previous seasons, and the landing spots were less than ideal. With that being said, wide receiver is still a critically important position in dynasty fantasy football rookie drafts. Receivers have a longer shelf life than running backs, and tend to have the higher upside as well. It’s important to find the diamonds in the rough if you want to find success in your rookie drafts. It’s also vital to know when are the right times to pounce on receivers, and that’s where tiering comes into play.
For this exercise, we’ll break up the DLF Rookie Rankings into tiers and analyze when those tiers should be targeted in superflex rookie drafts. To kick things off, here are the current rookie wide Receiver rankings, and their ADPs in early My Fantasy League rookie drafts.

The DLF expert rankers are split right down the middle on who the first wide receiver in rookie drafts should be. Three of them have McMillan first, and three of them have Hunter first. In a vacuum, I’d take Hunter first, but this really comes down to how much risk your team can afford. Regardless of the upside, picking Hunter in a non-IDP format is extremely risky right now. The Jaguars are saying all of the right things, that he’ll prioritize the offensive side of the ball, but they have yet to get him on the field, in pads, and playing with this team. When push comes to shove, they could see him being more valuable to the defensive side of the ball and change their minds. He could get on the field and not click with Trevor Lawrence, or there could be more need for him on defense. The ceiling is there, he’s the best wide receiver in this draft, but there’s so much risk involved with the pick as well. Analyze your team, and make the best choice for your roster, if you’re choosing between these receivers in your draft.
