Rookie quarterback Stetson Bennett struggled mightily in the team's 41-0 loss against the Broncos.
On the night, Bennett threw for 14 yards on 4-of-9 passing with two interceptions. Bennett's stock had be rising of late and this will take some of the wind out of his sails in the near term. There's no question Matthew Stafford remains the starter for the Rams in 2023 and, as one of the leagues most durable quarterbacks, it's unlikely Bennett sees time under-center as the team's QB3 behind Brett Rypien. Found as the QB48 on DLF's superflex rankings, Bennett remains a bottom-of-the-roster dynasty stash on the chance he could be in the mix for a starting role in 2024.

Rams rookie quarterback Stetson Bennett played well in his preseason debut, throwing for 191 yards and a touchdown
What wasn't on the stat sheet were two passes which should have resulted in two interceptions. But in his first pro action, Bennett looked solid as he vies to replace the league's second oldest starter in Matt Stafford. The rookie played behind Brett Rypien as expected but there's no expectation for Bennett to make an immediate impact. He's listed as DLF's Superflex QB49 and has a chance to compete for a starting role when the Rams move on from Stafford.

Stetson Bennett has turned heads early in camp.
There's no expectation for Bennett to be on the field soon as Matt Stafford's backup, but with the Rams reportedly exploring trade potential for Stafford earlier this offseason, could it be the rookie is given a chance to start late in 2023 if the season is lost? Bennett has shown ability with the deep ball early in camp, routinely connecting with Puka Nacua and Demarcus Robinson, and is looking to continue that momentum entering preseason. He'll get plenty of reps under center when preseason games begin. Stetson Bennett remains unranked on DLF's quarterback rankings and likely only a candidate for addition in superflex formats.

The Los Angeles Rams selected Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Winner. That's really all there is to say about Bennett, who went from being a walk-on at Georgia to leading them to not one, but two National Titles. He slipped in the draft based on the lack of elite physical traits but Bennett is smart, tough and a willing learner and leader. Sean McVay will love what he bring to the Rams as a backup. While he's far from a sure thing to be Matt Stafford's eventual replacement, this is a kid you just don't doubt. If you're looking for late round fliers in a draft, you could do worse.
