The injuries continue to add up on the defensive side of the football four weeks into the season. In the past week, dynasty managers have had to work around a season-ending injury for Alex Singleton and an I/R trip for Foye Oluokun. Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence suffered major injuries on Thursday. We’ll need to once again pay attention to the practice reports this week after injuries to players like Troy Andersen and Trey Hendrickson.
As the roster crunch for IDP leagues continues, it gets tougher and tougher to hold onto your developmental projects. Players like Junior Colson, Chop Robinson and Byron Murphy get harder to hold onto, especially if you’re playing to win this season. Developing teams should be watching the dropped players very closely in their IDP leagues, and looking out for some high-upside future players who may hit the wire over the next couple of weeks.
As a reminder, these waiver wire suggestions are based on dynasty leagues that start seven defensive players, two at each position group and a flex. Some players profiled will be for deeper leagues, and others for more shallow leagues, but with no standard format for IDP leagues, we need to cast a wide net. I’ll be using roster percentage data from Sleeper.

The Cowboys got the win on Thursday night, but suffered some major losses as well. Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence will be out for multiple weeks with major injuries. As the two key pass-rushers on this team, the Cowboys will need to turn to someone else to attack opposing quarterbacks. Kneeland and Golston will likely be the first ones off the bench for Dallas. Golston has had the more productive season, but for a dynasty league, Kneeland is the most intriguing. The second-round pick notched two tackles on Thursday and played in 36 snaps, 26 more than he did in week three. He’s still looking for his first career sack, and next week is a prime spot for him to get one. Justin Fields was sacked four times by the Colts defense on Sunday.
