Michael Bennett News

  • Jonathon Brooks out for the season · May 8, 2025

The Panthers have placed running back Jonathon Brooks on injured reserve.

Brooks will miss the entire 2025-26 season as a result. Dealing with his second major injury, it's fair to wonder just what Brooks may actually be able to contribute moving forward. Unfortunately, most dynasty managers who have him used a first round draft pick on him last year, making his roster spot one they can't really give up on quite yet. However, this has a real "Marcus Lattimore" vibe to it and his career really is in question at the moment. He's a hold in dynasty leagues at the moment and hopefully this year off can help him get his career started.

  • Tank Dell likely out for the season · May 5, 2025

Tank Dell is unlikely to play next season as he recovers from surgery.

As if the Texans drafting not one, but two receivers from Iowa State didn't clue you in, this latest report states what most dynasty managers were assuming - we aren't going to see Dell for a while. It's tough news to swallow, but also not much of a surprise as Dell suffered a catastrophic knee injury late last season. He'll remain a good roster stash, but his dynasty value has really sunk as a result of not one, but now two serious injuries during his time in the NFL.

  • Shedeur Sanders tanked the pre-draft process · Apr 29, 2025

Shedeur Sanders reportedly struggled with offensive concepts during the pre-draft process.

In a pretty stunning piece in Sports Illustrated, Sanders is described as a player who failed to catch planted mistakes and even went as far as challenging some team personnel in film sessions when shown his own mistakes by saying maybe he just wasn't "the right fit" for them. It's a pretty stunning report and could shine some light on why he fell all the way to the fifth round. In short, it really does sound like teams looked at him as a player with average-to-good physical traits, but also one who takes too many sacks and most importantly, came off as entitled. In short, the baggage was too heavy for the NFL to invest much in. Sanders will have a chance to compete and make the roster as a fifth rounder, but nothing is guaranteed. He's gone from an intriguing prospect to a late round flier in rookie drafts, though he'll be overdrafted everywhere based on dynasty managers likely thinking they know more than the NFL. We likely don't.

  • Isaiah Bond goes undrafted · Apr 27, 2025

Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond was not selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Bond was expected to fall in the draft based on his sexual assault allegations, but few expected him to drop out of it altogether. This obviously shows the NFL believes there is real trouble ahead for him. To make matters worse, it seems Bond himself isn't endearing himself to many after possibly attempting to quiet his accuser with a cash payment. This is a mess and Bond may have to get through his legal trouble to have a chance in the league. At this point, his future is cloudy at best.

  • Kalel Mullings drafted by Tennessee · Apr 27, 2025

The Tennessee Titans drafted Michigan running back Kalel Mullings in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

A favorite of many pundits after moving from linebacker to running back (!), Mullings will need to show his lack of experience won't hold him back as he attempts to carve out a role behind Tony Pollard and Tajae Spears and avoid the practice squad. He looks like a late round lottery ticket in rookie drafts.

  • KeAndre Lambert-Smith drafted by the Chargers · Apr 27, 2025

The Los Angeles Chargers drafted Auburn wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Hmm. Interesting. Lambert-Smith led Penn State in receiving last year and Auburn this year, making him productive in two major conferences. He lands in a good spot with the Chargers but is going to need to prove he's more than just a deep threat to stick long-term. Still, this is an intriguing pick and makes Lambert-Smith worthy of a late round rookie selection.

  • Brashard Smith drafted by the Chiefs · Apr 27, 2025

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted SMU running back Brashard Smith in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Smith entered the NFL Draft as a possible "sleeper" candidate and left the weekend with that same designation after being taken in the seventh round by the Kansas City Chiefs. He may end up being overdrafted by some dynasty managers hoping he's the latest late-round running back darling destined to rise to stardom. However, he's no more than a late round flier as a seventh round pick who isn't a lock to make the roster.

  • Jordan Watkins drafted by the 49ers · Apr 27, 2025

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Ole Miss wide receiver Jordan Watkins with the final pick of the fourth round in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Watkins wasn't really on the radar prior to the NFL Draft, but that changed in a hurry after he was taken in the fourth round by the 49ers. Seen mostly as a special teams player in the pre-draft process, San Francisco clearly sees some upside in his receiving prowess after taking him with the final pick in the fourth round. Time will tell if Watkins can move up the depth chart but you can do worse with a late round dart throw.

  • Xavier Restrepo signs with Tennessee · Apr 27, 2025

The Titans have signed undrafted wide receiver Xavier Restrepo.

Restrepo surprisingly went undrafted and subsequently signed on with the Titans shortly after the draft. This is likely a better outcome than being taken as Tennessee doesn't have the deepest receiving corps and he'll be reunited with college quarterback Cam Ward. Still, the Titans don't have much invested here and you should do the same in a dynasty league.

  • Jacory Crosky-Merritt drafted by Washington · Apr 27, 2025

The Commanders drafted Arizona running back Jacory Crosky-Merritt in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Crosky-Merritt was seemingly gaining some nice momentum going into draft weekend but that proved be a some posturing by a lot of parties as he fell all the way down into the seventh round of the draft before being taken by Washington. If you take him late in your rookie draft, you're doing that more because you feel the Commanders need a boost in the running game but the fact is Crosky-Merritt is more likely going to end up on their practice squad.
