Name: Kyle Williams
Position: Wide Receiver
Pro Team: New England Patriots
College Team: Washington State Cougars
Draft Status: Round three, 69th overall
Williams was a relatively unheralded recruit out of California in the class of 2020. He was a three-star recruit who ultimately signed with UNLV out of high school. After three quiet seasons in Las Vegas, Williams transferred to Pullman to join a Washington State team that threw the ball all over the field and his numbers increased drastically.
Even though Williams’s best season was in 2024, he wasn’t viewed as a big-time prospect at the end of the season. However, as the pre-draft process has carried on, Williams shot up NFL draft boards thanks to his route-running and film analysis.
Williams was drafted at the beginning of the third round by the New England Patriots as the ninth wide receiver off the board. He had a wide range of outcomes entering draft weekend, but it’s hard to imagine a better landing spot and draft capital combination for the receiver.
