Steelers wide receiver George Pickens had four catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns in a blowout win against the Bengals.
And this is the Pickens fantasy owners have been waiting for all season. This was the best fantasy day for Pickens in his career as he set a career high in yardage and posted his first ever mutli-touchdown game. His dynasty value is going to ultimately hinge on the quarterback situation being resolved permanently for the Steelers but this was a huge step forward for the youngster, who comes in currently as our WR27.

Steelers receiver George Pickens had just three catches for 58 yards in a win against Cincinnati.
We were hoping the change in offensive coordinator would be positive for Pickens but the early returns aren't good. While the Steelers put up a lot of yards, the distribution of touches was pretty even today, outside of Pat Freiermuth, who had a whopping 11 targets. Pickens has been a disappointment for most of the year and his dynasty stock continues to suffer.

George Pickens was mentioned as a player who could benefit following the firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada.
After a strong start to 2023, Pickens has faded badly over his past four games, including one game where we produced -1 yards on 2-of-5 receiving. Somewhat volatile in demeanor, Pickens has WR1 upside but the Steelers have yet to find offensive consistency behind second-year starter Kenny Pickett. Any upside to Pickens' production would be highly valued by dynasty managers as his lack of recent production is beginning to pressure his ranking. He's currently found as DLF's WR29.

George Pickens remains frustrated with his role
It's been a rollercoaster with higher highs and lower lows and there's no end in sight. It's one thing for a player to be frustrated with his production or role on the offense, but it's another thing to not celebrate the success of the team, as Pickens did following Diontae Johnson's first touchdown in almost two years. Instead of congratulating Johnson, he, instead, ran off the field to sulk. Pickens removed all Steelers photos off some of his social feeds and reportedly unfollowed some fellow teammates. He then restored them. Ups and downs. Mike Tomlin continues to say he values players wanting the ball and desiring a larger role, but we have to believe he understands all too well where this could lead. Pickens is listed as DLF's WR28 and has immense talent. But at 22 years of age and seemingly volatile and immature, there's no guarantee the George Pickens rollercoaster ends well.
