Louis Rees-Zammit signs with Chiefs
FollowThe Chiefs have signed rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit
Dynasty Analysis
Well, this is fun. Rees-Zammit is a rugby star who is trying to carve out a role on an NFL team as a running back or wide receiver. He had visits with the Browns, Jets, Broncos, and Chiefs recently and Green Bay was reportedly hot on his trail as well. There's very little known about his true ability but being on the Chiefs offense and knowing how creative Andy Reid is will put him on the radar. Rees-Zammit could be a fun final pick in a rookie draft this Spring.
(Source: KC Star)Cordarrelle Patterson to the Steelers
FollowThe Steelers have signed utility player Cordarrelle Patterson.
Dynasty Analysis
A lightning rod in dynasty leagues seemingly for his entire career, Patterson lands with the Steelers hours after the NFL adopted new kickoff return rules. It's going to be interesting to see just how Pittsburgh employs him as he can obviously return kicks but also help out at running back or receiver. In the end, it's hard to see much value from Patterson, especially in dynasty leagues. However, he's certainly a player to monitor as his role becomes more and more clear.
(Source: ESPN)Brandon Aiyuk not available
FollowThe 49ers are reportedly not fielding offers for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Dynasty Analysis
Rumors of him being traded are going to persist until he works out a long-term contract extension. Aiyuk has raised the bar for his game over the past two seasons and posted a 75/1,342/7 season last year, showcasing his talent. He's on the last year of his contract, so something has to give. Regardless, Aiyuk's dynasty arrow is pointing up and he looks like a solid WR2 moving forward.
(Source: ESPN)Odell Beckham linked to Miami
FollowThe Dolphins have made a contract offer to wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr.
Dynasty Analysis
OBJ is far from the player he once was but this looks like a good fit in reality. Unfortunately, the Dolphins already have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, so Beckham would be more of a luxury than anything else. No contract has been signed but it seems there's mutual interest. Beckham would likely have some big games but looks more like a big-name roster clogger more than anything else at this point in his career.
(Source: ESPN)Parris Campbell signs with Philadelphia
FollowThe Eagles have signed wide receiver Parris Campbell.
Dynasty Analysis
The Eagles are dipping into the Giants depth chart again and sign Campbell to join running back Saquon Barkley. This move doesn't come with nearly as much fanfare as Campbell was a free agent bust last year in New York, catching just 20 passes for 104 scoreless yards on the season. He's going to need to work for a spot behind DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown this off-season. This signing may be one better in real life than in fantasy leagues as Campbell's dynasty value is near zero.
(Source: NY Post)D'Onta Foreman signs with Cleveland
FollowThe Browns have signed running back D'Onta Foreman.
Dynasty Analysis
This seems like a sneaky good signing for the Browns, who are still awaiting Nick Chubb's return from a knee injury last season. Foreman has spent time with the Texans, Titans, Panthers and Bears over his seven years in the league, serving as a valuable handcuff or spot starter at each stop. He should slot in nicely with Jerome Ford to hold down the fort until Chubb returns. While not an elite-level asset, Foreman is a good handcuff to have for Chubb managers and still dynasty roster worthy with this landing spot.
(Source: CBS Sports)Mike Williams signs with the Jets
FollowThe New York Jets have signed free agent wide receiver Mike Williams.
Dynasty Analysis
The deal is for one year and can be worth up to $15 million. Williams is coming off a torn ACL but is reportedly ahead of schedule in his rehab. He's been a very productive receiver when healthy but is seemingly constantly dealing with some kind of ailment. If he's back to full strength, this could get very interesting. An offense featuring Aaron Rodgers, Breece Hall, Williams and Garrett Wilson is about as good as it gets on paper. Williams' ADP won't rise much based on his age (29) but this is one of the better outcomes you could hope for.
(Source: ESPN)Rico Dowdle back with Dallas
FollowThe Dallas Cowboys have re-signed running back Rico Dowdle.
Dynasty Analysis
As expected. The Cowboys lost Tony Pollard to Tennessee and needed to start replenishing their depth chart, so bringing Dowdle back was always likely. At this point, he looks like a potential starter, though it's highly likely the Cowboys either draft someone or make another move to move him into a backup role. At this point, Dowdle is a solid hold in dynasty leagues as we wait to see how this whole thing shakes out.
(Source: NFL.com)Alexander Mattison signs with Las Vegas
FollowThe Raiders have signed free agent running back Alexander Mattison.
Dynasty Analysis
Mattison spent four years in Minnesota waiting for an opportunity to be a starter and finally got it last season. Unfortunately, it was a total disaster as he rushed for 700 yards with more fumbles (3) than rushing touchdowns (0). He added a 30/192/3 line through the air but was hardly a difference maker in the running game. He'll slot in behind projected starter Zamir White for the moment but the Raiders may not be done adding to the depth chart. Mattison is best served as a handcuff at the moment as it's unlikely he'll be battling for a starting position any time soon.
(Source: ESPN)Former Vikings wide receiver KJ Osborn has signed with the New England Patriots.
Dynasty Analysis
The Patriots put on a full court press for Calvin Ridley but ended up seeing him sign with the Titans instead. Left to scramble for what was left in free agency, they secured Osborn on a one-year deal. It's a sneaky good signing for New England who get a receiver who has shown flashes of brilliance. With a depth chart that's far from solidified, Osborn's value should increase with the move.
