The only rumored destination remains New England who recently signed Cam Newton to a one-year deal but on what is considered to be "backup money." The 49ers are set to select a rookie signal caller with the third-overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft signaling Garoppolo's near-term exit, the only question being whether it will occur in 2021 or 2022. As for Garoppolo, DLF's QB23, he remains an uninspiring dynasty target under-center while possessing only a single (2019) 16-game season on his seven year resume'. During that season, he produced 3,978 yards, 27 touchdowns to 13 interceptions but followed up in 2020 with only six games played, totaling 1,906 yards, seven touchdowns to five interceptions. At best Jimmy Garoppolo remains a back-end QB2 in dynasty and carries significant near-term starting risk.
