Heinicke was supposed to be thrown to the wolves after Dwayne Haskins was released and Alex Smith was unable to suit up in the playoff opener. That clearly didn't happen as Heinicke showed poise in the pocket, escapability and a surprisingly accurate throwing arm. While this is an extremely small sample size, Washington has to be wondering if they have a possible candidate for the quarterback position right in house. While the chances of Heinicke actually earning the job are remote, especially with players like Jacoby Brissett, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Mitch Trubisky likely hitting the free agent market and numerous others like Matt Stafford and Matt Ryan possibly available via trade, there is at least some intrigue here. Heinicke is unranked in our latest run of rankings, but is worth a roster stash in deep leagues if you can get him for free off the wire.
