It's really no surprise though the Panther's did recommit to Newton not long ago, this action representing a complete about-face. Soon-to-be 31, Newton still has another big contract in his future though may need to sign a shorter team structured contract to prove his health before landing a much larger payday in a future year. Multiple teams still have open, or less than ideal, quarterback situations to which Newton would be an immediate upgrade so he won't be a free agent for long. While the move will continue to sting for 'Superman', the change of scenery will go a long way toward recapturing his love of the game and lost trademark enthusiasm. Cam Newton is DLF's QB14.
