The announcement was made via a very well done and personal video on his Twitter page. Taylor is just another in a long line of productive Badger running backs, arguably the best in a long time. He amassed over 2,000 yards rushing in two of his three years, falling short of the mark by a mere 23 yards in 2017. Over that stretch he totaled an impressive 50 touchdowns on the ground. While never featured in the passing game, Taylor did see 256 receptions and another five touchdowns in 2019, displaying confident-enough hands to be considered a potential three-down candidate at the next level. Carrying near-perfect NFL size (5'11/219) the only concern will be Taylor's long speed which he can answer during the NFL Combine in February. Anything near 4.50 will assure a high selection during the draft. He's a near-lock to be selected within the first 40 picks and could easily hear his name called on day-one. Jonathan Taylor is found as the R2 (rookie) on DLF's Devy Rankings.
