Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has re-torn his Achilles tendon.

Dynasty Analysis

Oh boy. Watson may not play at all in 2025 now and his career has to be considered to be in jeopardy at this point. Remarkably ineffective since being traded from Houston, Watson is now damaged good and on the biggest boat anchor of a contract in NFL history. The Browns swung for the fences and struck out in the bottom of the ninth on this one. Watson's dynasty value is gone and he actually belongs on waiver wires at this point.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson had successful surgery to repair his torn Achilles.

Dynasty Analysis

The good news is the surgery should be enough to get him back on the field in 2025. The bad news is the fact nobody may want him after his disastrous tenure in Cleveland and an image that has taken more hits than most ever have. Watson is still under contract with the Browns and they'd have to swallow a massive amount of money to move forward. However, with just one win on the year and a season spiraling down the toilet, they may just have to draft a quarterback this Spring and swallow their pride. Watson is going to be cut in most dynasty leagues this week if he hasn't been already.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was carted off the field after suffering a non-contact lower leg injury.

Dynasty Analysis

It will be shocking if Watson hasn't torn his Achilles. When he dropped back to pass and planted on his leg, you could see what looked to be a rupture occur around his calf. Watson left in tears and it clearly has the looks of a season ending injury. If he has indeed torn his Achilles, this could also be the end of his career as Watson hasn't played good football in a long, long time. We'll wait until we see a diagnosis, but anyone brave enough to have still had Watson in their fantasy lineups is going to need to make some changes.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 16-of-23 passes for 168 scoreless yards in a loss to the Eagles.

Dynasty Analysis

The Browns are now 1-5 in what's looking like a lost season. Speaking of lost, Watson was again highly ineffective and seems incapable of making anything but the simplest of plays. With just five touchdowns and three interceptions through six games this season, the experiment could be coming to a close. Jameis Winston is waiting in the wings and it's going to be tough for the Browns to trot out Watson many more times. His dynasty value is near zero at this point.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has settled his latest civil suit out of court.

Dynasty Analysis

No details have emerged and they likely won't at this point. All we know is the latest legal issue with Watson has now been put to rest. Unfortunately, that won't put many minds at ease as Watson has been simply terrible on the field since arriving in Cleveland. The Browns were willing to take the obvious PR hit with Watson since he was considered an elite-level player. However, it's fair to wonder how long they're going to stick with him now that he clearly isn't. Watson's dynasty value is in the tank, despite him likely not facing league discipline over his latest transgression (or accusation).

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 15-of-28 passes for 125 yards with one touchdown and a lost fumble in a blowout loss to Washington.

Dynasty Analysis

Watson's touchdown pass came in garbage time and won't mask another terrible performance. The Browns are 1-4 and Watson has just five touchdown passes in the first five weeks of the season. He's also failed to surpass 200 passing yards in any game this season. While the return of Nick Chubb will surely help matters, it's clear Watson is simply not the player the Browns traded for and it honestly wouldn't be a surprise to see them turn to Jameis Winston at this point. Watson's dynasty value is near zero.

Deshaun Watson has been named in a civil lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault in 2020.

Dynasty Analysis

As if the week couldn't get worse for Watson, who was putrid in Cleveland's season opener. This case will simply be added to the mound of 25 (yes, 25) different civil lawsuits that have come his way. Watson has settled 23 of those thus far. The NFL will monitor the situation and it may be unlikely he faces further discipline since he's already been punished for the other large group of lawsuits. Regardless, this is yet another red flag against Watson, whose career looks to be spiraling down the tubes since his trade to Cleveland. Stay tuned.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 24-of-45 passes for 169 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Browns loss against Dallas.

Dynasty Analysis

Oh boy. Watson's 3.8 yards per attempt is beyond anemic and he simply looks nothing like he once did in Houston. While this was his first game action in a number of months, this was still concerning, despite Watson complaining about arm soreness the past few weeks. In short, today's game did nothing to throw any cold water on the notion that Watson is simply cooked. He's a low-end QB2 at this point and one who likely shouldn't be in fantasy lineups.
