The signing makes sense after Jones said he was looking to sign with a contender and not necessarily need a starting job. It's a solid signing for the Vikings, who have Sam Darnold at the helm but little behind him with JJ McCarthy out for the season. If Darnold was to get hurt, Jones would immediately become dynasty relevant again considering his supporting cast. This move is likely a temporary one and won't stop his dynasty value plunge, however.

Well, that'll do it. Jones made a well-received statement yesterday about his time with the Giants, expressing gratitude for the opportunity. He also made it clear he was excited about the next chapter. The Giants were expected to release him in the off-season, but with a contract that nobody would trade for, they decided to just grant him his release now. He'll inevitably clear waivers this week, then be free to sign with any team. Expect him to do that to cover for a team having quarterback issues or needing a veteran backup for the rest of the season. The Raiders, Jaguars, and Cowboys could all have some level of interest if they truly have any desire to compete this season.

This has been likely in the works for the better part of a week, but now it looks like it's becoming official. Jones has failed to live up to expectations and the Giants would be on the hook for a massive amount of salary should he be injured this season. New York knows they have a worse chance of winning with DeVito, but the idea of paying Jones for another year is just simply seen as a worse option. He's certainly taken his last snap as a Giant and will be looking for a new team next season. The Giants are now squarely in the mix to take a quarterback in this year's NFL Draft. Jones' dynasty value is going to sink even further this morning.

Jones not only missed open receivers, he flat-out failed to even throw to them at times. After the game, the Giants went on record saying they were evaluating the position. With Jones looking this bad against one of the league's worst defenses and the Giants sitting at 2-8, it would be no surprise to see Drew Lock under center here soon. With just eight touchdowns and seven interceptions on the year, the Jones era in New York is surely coming to an end and the Giants may very well be players in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jones was replaced late by Drew Lock, but the game was clearly out of hand, so it's hard to say if that change was performance related or if the Giants just stopped running him out there as a human sacrifice to an Eagles defense that had eight sacks on the day. With the Giants at 2-5, it's fair to wonder if we'll see Jones under center next week against Pittsburgh. His dynasty value is reaching near zero.

Ouch. Jones was seeing his first action since tearing his ACL last season and this wasn't pretty as one of the interceptions resulted in a pick-six. Jones was fortunate to see the Giants pass on quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft but he's going to need to play much better quickly to retain his job beyond the first part of this season and certainly for anything beyond that.
