The Cleveland Browns have signed free agent wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
Dynasty Analysis
The former Steeler endured one of the strangest seasons last year when he was traded from Carolina to Baltimore, only to be cut after complaining about playing time. He ended up with Houston, only to be cut again after being visibly upset at his role. Johnson again gets a fresh start and with only Jerry Jeudy having a truly established role at wideout, he could have a solid chance to contribute next year. Johnson is still roster-worthy but he's viewed more as a luxury than a necessity by the dynasty community and his career may be running on fumes should another dust up occur.

The Texans have cut wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
Dynasty Analysis
He was going to be a free agent at the end of the season anyway, but it's telling that the receiver-needy Texans are cutting bait with him while they're still in the playoffs. After playing in Carolina, Baltimore and Houston this season, Johnson looks like a player who needs a major image overhaul. He'll likely sign somewhere this off-season, but his dynasty value is falling off a cliff.
The Texans have claimed former Ravens wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
Dynasty Analysis
With Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs both out for the season with serious knee injuries, the Texans needed to do something to shore up their receiving corps and are taking a shot on Johnson. It's a decent gamble for the team, but Johnson was a total bust with Baltimore and even refused to enter a game at one point, leading to the team cutting him this week. There's no doubting Johnson's talent, however, so hopefully this works out. Johnson is far from lineup consideration, but any sign of life will help stop the freefall of his dynasty value.

Dynasty Analysis
Ouch. It seems Johnson was asked to enter this week's game and politely declined. Clearly unhappy with his role after being traded from Carolina, Johnson is seemingly waving the white flag on his season and moving forward. He has just one catch on five targets in four games played after being acquired by Baltimore as this mid-season acquistiion has clearly gone haywire. At this point, Johnson is likely to serve his suspension, then the rest of the year on the Baltimore bench. His dynasty value is crumbling, but at least he'll be a free agent this off-season and the chances of him re-signing with the Ravens are near zero.
