The Browns are hosting quarterback Russell Wilson on a free agent visit.

Dynasty Analysis

Well, the plot thickens. Cleveland has a premium draft pick (#2 overall) and could use it on a signal caller this year. They also just traded for Kenny Pickett. Bringing in Wilson could indicate they really don't intend to have Pickett call the shots year and signing Wilson could indicate they're leaning away from taking Cam Ward or Sheduer Sanders at #2. After all, having a rookie and two veterans under contract doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. We'll see what materializes here but it's clear we have some raised eyebrows at the moment.

Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson completed 20-of-29 passes for 270 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in a playoff loss to Baltimore.

Dynasty Analysis

Wilson performed about as he has all season - fine. This is the problem for the Steelers, who now have the same problem they did after last season as they boast a talented team that needs an elite-level quarterback. Wilson just isn't that any longer and neither is Justin Fields. Problem is they are both free agents and likely not the answer next season. The challenge for the Steelers is they're not bad enough to draft anyone of note because their draft pick isn't good enough. However, getting quarterbacks off the scrap heap has only made them more of the same and good instead of great just won't cut it in the NFL. Wilson himself should land a starting job somewhere next season, but he's no lock to return to Steel City. He's a roster worthy QB2 but not much more than that in dynasty leagues.

Russell Wilson completed 17-of-31 passes for 148 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in a loss to the Bengals.

Dynasty Analysis

Wilson isn't what he used to be, but it's hard to look at him and say he was anything like he was in Denver (pretty bad) this season, either. He finishes the regular season with 2,482 passing yards, with 16 touchdowns and just five interceptions in 11 games. The Steelers will obviously be evaluating his play in the postseason, but it seems likely Wilson will be back in Pittsburgh next season on a team-friendly deal. Regardless, he's solidified his status as a decent QB2 in dynasty leagues moving forward.

Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson completed 29-of-38 passes for 414 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in a win against the Bengals.

Dynasty Analysis

Many thought Mike Tomlin was crazy for benching Justin Fields earlier this year, but it's clear he knows more about football than pretty much anyone else on the planet. This has looked like a master stroke as Wilson is now up to 1,626 passing yards and ten touchdowns (with just three interceptions) in just six games started. While still more of a QB2 in dynasty leagues. Wilson is proving he still has something left in the tank and his dynasty value is back on the rise.

Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson completed 21-of-28 passes for 270 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in a loss to Cleveland.

Dynasty Analysis

Wilson hasn't been spectacular for Pittsburgh, but he's been solid. Thursday's weather was a mess, but he was still able to find Calvin Austin for some chunk gains. The challenge for Pittsburgh has been a tendency to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns, something that has limited Wilson's fantasy appeal greatly. He's more QB2 than QB1 at the moment, but he's at least shown some solid signs of growth.

Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson completed 14-of-28 passes for 195 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in a win against Washington.

Dynasty Analysis

Wilson isn't putting up vintage yardage totals this year, but it's hard to argue with six touchdowns, one interception, and all three games won at the helm of the Steelers thus far. Wilson was fairly efficient today and while he did make one mistake, it's hard to look at this game and say Justin Fields could make some of the same throws Wilson did. While more a QB2 than a QB1 this year, Wilson looks like he could be in the midst of a comeback season. His dynasty value has stabilized and is starting to tick up this year.

The Steelers are planning on starting Russell Wilson at quarterback this week.

Dynasty Analysis

Wilson has worked his way back from a calf injury and will replace Justin Fields in the starting lineup. It's a curious move as Fields has the team at 4-2 and tied for first place in the AFC North. Still, the Steelers are clearly hesitant in unleashing Fields as a passer and have made their game plans extraordinarily conservative on offense. Fields is likely to play in this one and Wilson is going to have precious little time to prove he should continue to start. In short, this looks like a situation to avoid for the foreseeable future in terms of dynasty lineups.

The Steelers are giving Russell Wilson the first team reps with the plans to likely start him this week.

Dynasty Analysis

Nothing is official and it also sounds like Mike Tomlin may play both quarterbacks this week. This is surprising considering Fields has the team at 4-2 and playing decently on offense. Still, Fields hasn't done anything spectacularly and has done more "game managing" than anything else. It's fair to wonder if that's really based more on game plans than Fields, who was looking like a player trying to not turn the ball over and do what he's asked. Regardless, this is a situation worth monitoring this week. Neither quarterback is looking like a great option at the moment.
