Well, that escalated quickly. Rodgers was said to be deciding between joining the Giants or Steelers, but now the Vikings could be in play. This would be a curious destination as Minnesota really does seem ready to hand the reigns over to JJ McCarthy and it seems rather unlikely Rodgers would want to join a team to have anything less than a total stranglehold on the starting job. In the end, Rodgers is getting what he craves - attention. We should have a resolution on this soon enough, but he still looks like an aging QB2 regardless of where he may land.

The Jets are going to get around $10 million in cap relief and now turn the keys to the franchise over to the newly signed Justin Fields. As for Rodgers, he's now a free agent for the first time in his career. Now seemingly way past his prime, A-Rod is likely going to need to choose between Pittsburgh, the New York Giants, and possibly the Minnesota Vikings. He's said to be wanting to play two more seasons, but he's going to need to play a lot better than he did for most of last season to make that happen. Having lost most of his mobility, Rodgers looks like a QB2 moving forward in dynasty leagues and one without too much fantasy appeal at that.

Every team with a quarterback vacancy is going to likely kick the tires on Rodgers, who looks like a shell of himself at the moment. Still, it's possible a team is convinced he'll be better after a healthy season and convince themselves they could get one last season or two of greatness from him. Regardless, Rodgers is looking like a QB2 even if he does indeed get another contract with a team.

His up-and-down play combined with his off-the-field attention may just be too much for someone to stomach. However, it only takes one and a team like Pittsburgh or the Rams (should they move on from Matthew Stafford) could make sense. Regardless, Rodgers' dynasty value has pretty much cratered.

He'll apparently be joined on the market with Davante Adams, who was good for New York down the stretch but also doesn't fit their rebuilding timeline. The Jets swung and missed big with Rodgers, who famously tore his Achilles in his first game last season, then went on to look like a shell of his former self most of this season. Retirement seems likely for Rodgers, but he could be a bridge option out there for someone should he choose to continue playing.

Glenn plans to meet with Rodgers "sooner rather than later," but it's fair to wonder just what his future holds. The Jets pick at #7 this year and that's likely not high enough to get someone like Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward and the gap between those two and the third best quarterback seems pretty wide. At this point, it's anyone's guess as to what happens with Rodgers, who clearly looks like a shell of himself. Regardless, he's a QB2 at best moving forward and an uninspiring one at this point as well.

Rodgers waited until the last possible moment to have his best game as a Jet. He finishes the season with just under 4,000 passing yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Speculation will only intensify now as Rodgers decides if he wants to retire or keep playing. He really wasn't great this season and was more of a problem than a solution for the Jets, but his history of greatness makes this a tough situation. Rodgers remains a hold in dynasty leagues as a bye-week fill-in or QB2, but it seems his days as a QB1 are all but over. Congratulations to Father Time, who remains undefeated.

This is just speculation at this point, but the Jets could be in position to draft his successor this off-season. It still seems likely Rodgers returns (especially since Davante Adams would have likely been assured of it), but teams that have performed this poorly rarely have anything set in stone. Rodgers is clinging to a little dynasty value, but it's dropping by the week.
