2025 Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update: Tahj Brooks

The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market.
Name: Tahj Brooks
Position: Running back
Pro Team: Cincinnati Bengals
College Team: Texas Tech
Draft Status: Round 6, Pick 193
A long-time Tulsa commit, Tahj Brooks reneged on his pledge and chose Texas Tech after Power 5 (at the time) schools started taking a bigger interest in him. He chose the Red Raiders over Vanderbilt, Duke, and TCU, and stayed with the program even after Matt Wells was fired with Joey McGuire replacing him in 2022. The move proved wise for the former consensus three-star back, as Brooks immediately became a key part of the offense, handling heavy workloads in his final two seasons on campus.
Brooks immediately found time, totaling 82 touches in his freshman season. Due to the Covid year, he is likely to be one of college football’s last players to see significant action in five different seasons. He is seasoned, and despite the Van Wilder-esque career, is not too old, having just turned 23.
