Dynasty Trending Observations: CeeDee Lamb, Jonathon Brooks and Nick Chubb

With the 2025 NFL Draft behind us, teams are making moves to finalize their roster. It’s no different for dynasty teams as they assemble their 2025 roster. Below are a few of the bigger roster moves this week in the real NFL that could affect your fantasy leagues.
Slim Pickens

The trade of George Pickens is a positive development in his fantasy value. He moves on to a better offense and the best quarterback of his professional career. Remember that while Pickens has been sitting on all the potential in the world, that’s all it’s been so far. He’s never finished as a top-20 fantasy receiver in Pittsburgh and didn’t look to start this year after not only being pushed down the depth chart thanks to the trade for DK Metcalf but also the giant question mark at quarterback. At least in Dallas, he has a Pro Bowl-caliber signal caller who has helmed top-five offenses before.
The bigger question after the trade of Pickens to Dallas is, what does it do to CeeDee Lamb‘s fantasy value? Lamb has been an elite fantasy option for most of his career, including top-ten fantasy finishes in each of the last three seasons. Of course, he’s never had as talented a receiver as Pickens line up next to him either. When Lamb finished as the top fantasy receiver just two years ago, it was 30-year-old Brandin Cooks who was starting opposite him, and he finished as a top-35 fantasy receiver.
But back to Lamb, will the presence of a young, talented receiver cut into his elite production?
Dynasty Impact: If we assume that new head coach Brian Schottenheimer will run a similar offense as offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, the Dallas passing game should be at the top of the league. The only season, two years ago, Schottenheimer had a healthy Dak Prescott for an entire season. In 2023, Dallas finished eighth in the league in pass attempts, third in passing yards, and first in passing touchdowns. Even last year, when Prescott missed half the season, the team finished third in pass attempts and 11th in passing yards.
If Dallas can stay at the top of the league in those numbers, Lamb should have no problem replicating his WR1 status. Outside of Lamb and Pickens, only tight end Jake Ferguson would warrant any significant attention. In 2023, Lamb saw 181 targets with Ferguson behind him at 102 targets and Cooks with 81. So, in theory, Pickens could tally career-highs in targets, whether as the second or third option and Lamb could still see a ton of volume.
Don’t let the acquisition of Pickens scare you off as a current or potential Lamb dynasty manager.
Brooks Was Here

Sadly, the post above was all too common last off-season. Jonathon Brooks, the first running back taken in the 2024 NFL Draft, was considered significantly better than any other rookie at the position. Dynasty teams took him early in rookie drafts, despite the torn ACL he suffered towards the end of his career at Texas, while others moved dynasty assets to acquire him. And missing part of his rookie season was always part of the plan. But when Brooks tore the same ACL again, just a month after being activated off the injured list, it was a gut punch to him and his dynasty managers. So the latest development, that Brooks will now miss his entire sophomore season, is just the icing on the cake.
But what does it mean to those dynasty managers who spent either draft capital or other assets to acquire him? For all the talent Brooks had, how much has remained after his knees have been torn to shreds, and how much is it worth?
Dynasty Impact: It’s impressive how Brooks’ value was consistently in the RB1 territory despite coming off a major lower-body injury. Only when he suffered the injury again did his value fall off a cliff.
The news of Brooks now missing all of 2025 is so recent, that it hasn’t had an impact on his dynasty value yet, but it’s coming. Using the DLF Trade Analyzer, Brooks can currently be acquired for a third-round rookie pick this year, which would be worth it when you consider which players are available then.
Rookie running backs like Dylan Sampson or Devin Neal are not guaranteed to even make their team’s roster, let alone be productive. If your dynasty leagues’ rosters are big enough or, better yet, have an IR spot, trading a mid-third-round rookie pick for Brooks is not the worst idea.

Speaking of talented running backs who seem to be injured more often than not, former Browns running back Nick Chubb appears to be headed somewhere else next season. The former Pro Bowler has not been able to stay on the field the last two seasons, playing in just 10 of a possible 34 games, which has been a serious wrench in an otherwise productive career. He totaled over 6,000 rushing yards and 48 touchdowns in his first five seasons and averaged well over five yards per carry. That kind of production led to him being a consistent RB1 for dynasty teams and a top-ten dynasty running back.
And much like Brooks, Chubb has had major lower-body injuries, but, unlike Brooks, is several years into his NFL career already. So what does that do to his dynasty value going forward?
Dynasty Impact: Because Chubb is almost 30, his dynasty value is understandably low. Our DLF Trade Analyzer currently has him valued as a late-fourth-round pick. But Chubb is healthy, and that price, even though he hasn’t signed with a team just yet, is an even better deal than the one discussed about Brooks above. If your dynasty team is in win-now mode, a late fourth would be a small gamble but could have a huge payoff. Which isn’t to say Chubb can replicate his stat line from earlier in his career. But if he can sign with a team and see lead-back carries again, that late fourth-round pick would be well worth it.
