2025 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Profile: Tai Felton, WR Maryland

Tai Felton had a dominant senior season at Maryland, but it took him a long time to become a productive college receiver. A devastating injury in high school cost him years of high school ball and offers from larger programs. He’s a versatile receiver who can line up all over the field and he has some blazing speed. Typically, late bloomers struggle to succeed in the NFL, but was he just a product of his circumstances?

Felton comes from Ashburn, Virginia, in the same town as the Commanders' headquarters and training facility. At Stone Bridge High School, he played both ways as a wide receiver and cornerback. In his first season on varsity as a sophomore, Felton broke out, catching 50 balls for 1,037 yards and 13 touchdowns. After that 2018 season, he received an offer from Virginia Tech, and racked up over 20 more offers from division one schools. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL midway through his junior season, and interest in him faded away. He was planning to commit to Virginia Tech, but they rescinded their offer after the injury. Maryland remained interested in Felton after the injury, and he committed in November of 2019. Felton missed the 2019 season because of the injury, and the 2020 season because of the COVID pandemic. He enrolled early in Maryland, having missed over a year and a half of football.
