Four Wide Receivers to Buy, Sell, or Hold in Dynasty Leagues

Wyatt Bertolone

Welcome on into the Positional Buy Sell Hold series where each week I’ll be focusing on one position to analyze four players and what we should be doing with them in dynasty. This week, wide receivers are back on the menu.

Nico Collins, WR HOU – Buy

Coming off his breakout 2023 season, Collins was looking to show it was no fluke in 2024 and that’s exactly how it started before a hamstring injury caused him to miss time. Smartly, the Texans held Collins out until he was fully healthy and he picked up right where he left off when he returned. For the season Collins averaged 17.6 PPR points per game improving on his previous season. Collins has clearly established himself as one the league’s top wide receivers and CJ Stroud’s favorite target. Can we expect more of the same in 2025?

The Move – Collins is already valued quite highly but dare I say he’s still not valued high enough? He has easily been one of the best wide receivers in fantasy for two years in a row. Even while the Texans offense struggled in 2024, Collins performed. With no reason to believe anything would change, I’m looking to buy. It will take a hefty price but I’m willing to pay it. I would tier down from Amon-Ra St. Brown or Puka Nucua or tier up from Marvin Harrison Jr or Jaxon Smith-Njigba. I’d use a second-round rookie pick to make up for the difference either way.

Rome Odunze, WR CHI – Hold

Odunze’s rookie season was a bit of a Rorschach test and you can take whatever you want from it, likely based on how you felt about him before the season. Odunze averaged just 8.4 PPR PPG as the at-best third target on the team while catching just 53.2% of targets. But he was also playing great wide receivers in DJ Moore and Keenan Allen on a poorly designed offense that dealt with bottom-of-the-league offensive line play helmed by a rookie quarterback. Looking forward to the 2025 season Keenan Allen has moved on and the illustrious Ben Johnson is in as head coach. Is the future bright for Odunze?

The Move – It’s easy to have a lot of confidence in the Bear’s offense making waves in 2025 underneath Ben Johnson. I expect Rome Odunze to have the classic second-year breakout that we used to normally expect. Unfortunately, the dynasty market has held strong on Odunze so it’s very hard to buy him at a discount currently. Because of that it’s not really worth buying as there is still some risk to his profile after the underwhelming rookie year. If you can find less than top 24 wide receiver prices, go for it. I just don’t expect it. Conversely, there’s no reason to sell with the breakout potential he has.

Jameson Williams, WR DET – Hold

2024 was the season we finally got the breakout many were waiting for from Jameson Williams. Consistently making big plays for the Lions, Williams averaged 14.1 PPR PPG as he stepped up into the number two target role behind Amon-Ra St. Brown. Heading into 2025 it looks as though most will remain the same for Williams. Ben Johnson leaving could affect the overall performance of the offense but all the big players remain on the team providing consistency. Can Williams repeat his breakout performance?

The Move – William’s 2024 season was quite impressive and honestly speaking I never really thought he’d have the breakout. I’m officially on board with Williams as he’s proven himself in the league. But we do still need to recognize that Williams has some risk to his projection. Playing next to Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and Jahmyr Gibbs makes it hard for Williams to earn a large target share so he has to live off of efficiency. With Ben Johnson leaving the Lions, it’s reasonable to question if his 2024 efficiency will remain in 2025. I’m happy with any shares I have but I’m not selling or buying right now.

Cedric Tillman, WR CLE – Buy

For a moment there it really seemed like Tillman was having his breakout moment in the middle of the 2024 season. Getting his opportunity after Amari Cooper was traded, Tillman averaged 18.1 PPR PPG in the four games he started before a concussion ended his season. It’s a small sample size but does provide some reason for hope. As of now Tillman is slated to start opposite Jerry Jeudy in the Browns’ offense but considering his just ok draft capital and lack of production prior to the Cooper trade his position may not be safe. Can we have faith in Tillman for the 2025 season?

The Move – You have to put a lot of faith into a really small sample size to see the vision but the really is optimism for Cedric Tillman. He’s a former day-two NFL Draft pick with adequate athleticism and a clear path to targets. The Browns have a lot of positions to address so wide receiver might not be high on their list so Tillman is more likely than not to be a starter in 2025. According to the Dynasty League Football Trade Analyzer Tillman can be bought for just a mid-third-round rookie pick. That’s a fine price to pay for the potential Tillman has.

It’s never a bad day to make a dynasty trade. Find yours today.
