Five Dynasty Sleepers to Add Before the 2025 NFL Draft
It is the off-season in the NFL, but there is never an off-season in dynasty leagues. Now is the time to make moves before the rest of the managers catch up. There are coaching changes and rosters can be in flux. You always want to find sleepers or the next players to make a jump to supplement your roster. I will give five sleepers who could have an increased role if their team does not draft anyone for their position. The sleeper status is for players found outside of the top 150 in ADP.
Roschon Johnson, RB CHI
Ben Johnson is now the man in charge in Chicago and there is the question if the Bears will go running back in the first round. They need to address the offensive line so I think they will pass on a player like Ashton Jeanty. If that happens, then there is a big opportunity for Roschon Johnson. In Detroit, Ben Johnson utilized a two-back system, one with power and one more elusive back. Roschon Johnson fits the power back with D’Andre Swift fitting the Jahmyr Gibbs role. Johnson had low yards per carry last year but did have six touchdowns and 114 of his 150 yards were after contact. There is a risk that the Bears could draft a running back but it is worth the risk with Johnson’s trade value just being a late third-round draft pick.
Troy Franklin, WR DEN
Many were surprised that Franklin fell to day three in last year’s NFL Draft. He did fall to a good spot with the WR-needy Broncos and his Oregon teammate Bo Nix. He had an up-and-down rookie season but finished strong in the playoffs with 54 receiving yards and a touchdown. The Broncos need additional weapons, but will they choose to go that route in the first round? There are not many elite receivers in this draft so even if they pick one, the rookie may not be involved right away. In the last seven games, Franklin had 44% of his targets for the year. He was more involved and a second year in the system could see a breakout. Franklin’s cost is around a fourth-round rookie pick and his familiarity with Nix should give him a head up on incoming competition.
Erick All, TE CIN
The story of Erick All’s career so far is that there is potential, but he cannot stay healthy. He had injuries at Michigan and his last year at Iowa was cut short. All showed athleticism in college and was a very physical blocker. PFF gave All a blocking grade of over 77 and he caught 20 of his 21 targets in nine games. He never went over a 60% snap share, but Mike Gesicki is a free agent, and he could see a production jump in 2025. The Bengals have so many other needs, that a tight end may not be high on the priority list. All could be picked up in some leagues and could be an add-in on trades right now.
Parker Washington, WR JAC
There is some uncertainty with the Jaguars depth chart at receiver. Christian Kirk may be a cap casualty, and the team is looking for an outside receiver opposite of Brian Thomas Jr. Baker Mayfield under Liam Coen was very successful throwing in the middle of the field. Between the hashes, Mayfield threw 51% of his yardage and 44% of his touchdowns. Even if the Jaguars get a receiver early, it should not affect Washington, because he will operate in the slot and the middle of the field. In the last six games of last season without Kirk, Washington had 33 targets. He is another player that could be picked up off waivers in the offseason.
Malachi Corley, WR NYJ
I worried about Malachi Corley being drafted with the Jets. They had already wasted the talent of Elijah Moore and Corley needed more unconventional ways to get the ball. At Western Kentucky, he was great after the catch, but they moved him around to avoid press coverage. Corley only had six targets and 16 yards in his rookie year. This is even more disappointing because there was little talent behind Garrett Wilson for the first half of the year before the Davante Adams trade. Aaron Glenn was hired and brought Tanner Engstrand from the Lions with him. Engstrand was a part of the passing attack that found inventive ways to get Jameson Williams the ball. Corley’s stock has gone down, so you should be able to be able to acquire him for a late pick or a low-value player.
