Dynasty Fantasy Football Trades

Richard Cooling

Taking advantage of potential valuation trends in the trade market is imperative. That is even more true during the season when players can experience wild valuation changes on a week-to-week basis. Each week, I will be highlighting some players you should be looking to move or acquire and the reasons why.

Buy - Brian Thomas Jr, WR JAC

Thomas has shown this year that he is a true superstar. Through the first nine games of his career, he was the WR11 overall, averaging 14.4 points per game. Those nine games are also the only ones where Trevor Lawrence has attempted over half of the Jaguars' pass attempts. His production has dipped slightly with Mac Jones under center, and the slower finish to the season will likely remove some of the luster when people review the season with season-long stats.

However, to me, the truth is simple. Brian Thomas Jr is a top-12 dynasty wide receiver, and there is very little question about that. The hope is that this Lawrence injury and the uncertainty around the coaching situation in Jacksonville opens a buy window to acquire the rookie wide receiver. This is your final chance to acquire him before he becomes so pricey you cannot get close. Right now, I would happily pay two random future first-round picks to bring him onto my team. You may be able to pivot from another young wide receiver, adding an asset to tier up to Thomas. It may feel like a slight overpay now, but this time next year, Thomas could be seen as a top-five dynasty wide receiver.

Sell - Jonnu Smith, TE MIA
