In case you are reading this, there is one bit of information to know before you start reading names. Just like last year’s series, we will be utilizing player rostership percentages, courtesy of real dynasty rosters from 1,700 MFL leagues. While this may not be entirely accurate for every individual league, it is very reflective of how managers view who is worthy or not of a roster spot. Now that that’s covered, let’s dive into the waiver wire after Week 13!

Players to double-check availability and immediately add:

Ameer Abdullah and Sincere McCormick, RBs LV

To kick things off, we turn to a pair of Raiders running backs who have been okay for fantasy lately in Abdullah and McCormick. Abdullah has been in this article now three weeks in a row, so I’m not going to harp on him any longer other than to mention him as an add this week once again. But the other name – Sincere McCormick – is one I wrote off last week because he only had five touches and I just thought Dylan Laube was better still. But McCormick is the new ground-and-pound runner for Vegas until Zamir White or Alexander Mattison return. This week he logged 12 carries for 64 yards and two catches for one yard, which is a fairly decent stat line, especially against a fantastic Chiefs run defense.

The issue with McCormick though, is that he seems to be limited to a two-down workload, and while 64 yards on 12 carries for over 5 YPC is a very good game by NFL standards, for fantasy, that’s only 6.4 points, and his two catches for one yard brings his total up to 8.5 points. It’s modest, but it’s nothing to write home about and without more receiving work or finding the end zone, McCormick is just another guy for fantasy. Now, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pick him up, I think he’s very deserving of an add, but he’s definitely a floor play with a very low ceiling on a bad Raiders offense.

Chris Rodriguez, RB WAS

Now a better running back add this week might be Rodriguez of the Washington Commanders, who had a career day this weekend with 94 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, serving as the RB1b with Brian Robinson. Of course, some of this production might have been some garbage time work as the Commanders thoroughly beat the Titans by over three scores, but Washington could have easily turned to Jeremy McNichols as the RB2, not Rodriguez, but they didn’t and Rodriguez had over double the touches that McNichols had.

What makes C-Rod an even more intriguing add is that Austin Ekeler is effectively done for the season, or at least the fantasy season as he was placed on IR and will be out through Week 17. So if Rodriguez just took over the RB2 role in Washington this week, he is now the direct handcuff to Brian Robinson AND could offer standalone value when BRob is healthy as we saw this weekend. I’d much rather use any remaining FAAB you have on Chris Rodriguez than Sincere McCormick as I view him as a better add for a rest-of-season stash, a starting lineup fill-in, AND more long-term upside past 2024.

Isaiah Davis, RB NYJ

And the final running back I would look to add this week is Davis, who you may or may not remember as the second running back the New York Jets selected in the 2024 Draft after Braelon Allen. And I wouldn’t blame you for not remembering him or even cutting him prior to this week because he only had five touches on the season up to this week, but then had some surprising usage against Seattle, with 32 yards and a touchdown on four touches, including three receptions. He still served as the RB3 for the Jets behind Breece Hall and Braelon Allen, but if this slight usage is any indication of potential future usage, it can’t go unnoticed. Especially in dynasty where we’re always looking for waiver wire gems to stash for next year or the year after, and I think Isaiah Davis is exactly that as we’re nearing the end of 2024.

Austin Hooper, TE NE

Moving to tight end quickly, I just want to bring up Hooper, who is now with the New England Patriots and his recent production has been flying very under the radar. Over the past four weeks, Hooper has seen exactly four targets in all four games, has caught four receptions in three of those games, has eclipsed 35 yards in all four games and over 40 yards in three of the four games, AND he’s scored in back-to-back weeks. He’s literally averaging almost 12 PPR points per game since Week 10 and nobody has really noticed. Now, I’m not saying Hooper gives me the most confidence in the world to just pick up and play off waivers, but he does offer that upside as a reliable target for Drake Maye right now, and if anything were to happen to Hunter Henry, Hooper could see an increased role as the TE1 for New England.

Parker Washington, WR JAC

Onto wide receivers, the big producer on waivers this week was Parker Washington for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who isn’t really a stranger to this article over the past couple of years. Against Houston, Washington put up 103 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets, leading all Jaguars receivers across the board statistically. Now, we’ve done this song and dance with Washington before and honestly this week’s production is basically equal to his production on the entire year coming into this week, but it’s something we still have to take note of. He’s a waiver add if you have extra bench space in deep leagues and that’s really about it.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR NO and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, WR TEN

And finally, I have to end once again with Westbrook-Ikhine and Valdes-Scantling, who continue to only be rostered in under 85% of leagues and I just don’t know what more either one of them need to do to earn your roster spot if they’re still available in your league. MVS scored again this week and now Taysom Hill is probably out for the year, further depleting the target earners for the Saints, so MVS is still a major add if he’s available. And then NWI, scored not once, but TWICE this week on eight targets, which continues an absurd run of touchdown luck that just will not go away, so please add NWI as well if he’s still available in your league, and honestly – consider starting him!
