Dynasty Injury Report: Week 11

Kyle Trimble

We are hitting the final weeks until your fantasy football playoffs are ready to start! The core players on your roster have carried you this far with crafty waiver wire pickups that have hopefully carried you to the top of your standings. If not, all you need to do is make the playoffs and then anything can happen! Reading who will produce despite injury or who is worth picking up can help you nab that final playoff spot.

I am Kyle Trimble, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and injury analyst at Dynasty League Football. I am here every week to break down the latest injuries and provide perspective on how to navigate the pitfalls that are injuries.

I would also encourage you to tune in to the DLF YouTube channel (make sure to subscribe!) to tune in to helpful content throughout the week.

Let’s look at the various injuries heading into Week 12 and any concerns moving forward for your fantasy championships.

Ladd McConkey, WR LAC

Injury: Right shoulder AC joint

Timeline to Return: Week 12-13

McConkey suffered a right AC joint sprain as a result of getting tackled out of bounds late in the first quarter on Sunday. After a brief evaluation, he did return to play, finishing with 6 receptions for 123 yards. Between a pain-numbing injection and adrenaline, that likely assisted him in finishing the game but he is one to watch this week on the injury report.

I expect him to potentially not practice on Thursday or if he does, he should be limited most of the week to allow the shoulder to heal. He realistically could play in Week 12 but considering his injury history, it may be best that he sits. If he plays, I expect his stats to drop due to his inability to highpoint the ball and absorb contact. If McConkey trends downward, Jalen Reagor and DJ Chark could be last-minute options on Monday if he is inactive.

Tyjae Spears, RB TEN

Injury: Concussion

Timeline to Return: Week 12-13

Spears suffered a head injury late in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. On Monday, he was confirmed to have a concussion and placed in the league’s protocol. He must pass through the five stages to be cleared to play next Sunday. Look for him to get a limited practice in by Thursday or pivot to Julius Chestnut to take his snaps. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, hit up the waiver wire.

Alexander Mattison, RB LV

Injury: Ankle sprain

Timeline to Return: Week 12-13

Mattison exited Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins with an ankle injury, finishing his day with 5 carries for 19 yards. I haven’t been able to find much on the specifics of his injury other than that he left and was unable to return. It’s not clear whether this is a high-ankle or low ankle sprain so this means you have to watch the injury report this week for his availability.

With backup Zamir White also dealing with injury, go grab Ameer Abdullah who should get the starting nod and could rack up some easy fantasy points.

Zamir White, RB LV

Injury: Quadriceps

Timeline to Return: Week 13

White left Sunday’s game after just 5 carries for 19 yards before exiting. He had a quadriceps injury heading into Week 9 and this is potentially an aggravation of this issue. He has cleared 40 yards just twice this season and has not been fantasy-relevant at all. As I mentioned with Mattison before, Ameer Abdullah is your top option or to hit the waiver wire.

Raheem Mostert, RB MIA

Injury: Hip

Timeline to Return: Week 12

Mostert took a shot to his hip early in the game finishing with 3 carries for -2 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders. Reports came out that he was alright but Mostert has been one of 2024’s biggest fantasy disappointments after over 1,000 yards and 18 touchdowns last year. Even if he does not have a designation heading into Week 12, he is not worth even being on your bench.

Still, look to Jaylen Wright for any fantasy production for Week 12, don’t hesitate to drop Mostert if you are holding onto him and hoping for 2023.

Gabe Davis, WR JAC

Injury: Left Knee Meniscus tear

Timeline to Return: 2025

Davis went down with a left knee injury running a routine route during Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions. Testing revealed that he tore his meniscus and doctors to determine whether he needed a trim or a full repair. On Tuesday, he was placed on injured reserve.

Whichever procedure they select, his season is done as the rehab timeline for either option would be longer than what the Jaguars have left. A full return to health is expected for Davis in 2025 but for now, Parker Washington or Tim Jones are your best options moving forward.

Brock Purdy, QB SF

Injury: Right shoulder soreness

Timeline to Return: Week 12

Purdy showed up on the injury report with right shoulder soreness following the Week 11 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was unable to pinpoint when he injured the shoulder which means this is an injury that requires a close eye on. Backup Brandon Allen may get some reps this week as Purdy rests the shoulder to be ready on Sunday. Considering the 49ers season is slowly slipping away at 5-5, I don’t believe that Purdy will sit unless there is structural damage. Hold tight for now until we get more information.

George Kittle, TE SF

Injury: Hamstring strain

Timeline to Return: Week 12-13

Kittle missed his second game of the season with a hamstring injury after originally suffering a hamstring injury in practice before Week 3. When Kittle did return in Week 4, he had 4 receptions for 45 yards and 1 touchdown. While the Green Bay Packers are more of a formidable opponent than the New England Patriots, Kittle should still be productive when he does return.

Jake Ferguson, TE DAL

Injury: Concussion

Timeline to Return: Week 13

Ferguson took a hard hit to his head on Monday Night Football in the first quarter and was promptly removed and placed in the concussion protocol. With the Cowboys playing on a short week, Ferguson’s chances of clearing protocol in six days are incredibly low. I wouldn’t even wait to see if he can get a limited practice in, go grab Luke Schoonmaker as your replacement until Ferguson is cleared to return.

Isiah Pacheco, RB KC

Injury: Right Fibular Fracture

Timeline to Return: Week 12

Pacheco was designated for return last week ahead of the Week 11 matchup against the Buffalo Bills but did not suit up. After two weeks of practice, he was expected to suit up for his first action since suffering the ankle fracture in Week 2. When he does return, do not expect pre-injury production for the first two or three games. The goal is for Pacheco to round into form for the Chiefs playoff push but also for your fantasy football championship.
