Dynasty IDP Waiver Wire: Week 11
As we approach the fantasy football playoffs, the IDP waiver wire becomes tighter. Several players we’ve featured in this article in the past, such as Jamien Sherwood and Zack Baun, have become every-week fantasy starters. Whether you’re still looking for that player to put the defensive side of your team over the edge, or you are struggling to find consistent performers, we’ll try to help you out here in this week’s dynasty IDP waiver wire report.
As a reminder, these waiver wire suggestions are based on dynasty leagues that start seven defensive players, two at each position group and a flex. Some players profiled will be for deeper leagues, and others for more shallow leagues, but with no standard format for IDP leagues, we need to cast a wide net. I’ll be using roster percentage data from Sleeper.
Be sure to check out the DLF IDP Rankings for our takes on how IDP players should be valued for dynasty leagues.
Defensive Linemen
Dante Fowler, EDGE WAS, 18%
Now that Jamien Sherwood is finally over 35% and no longer eligible for this article, Fowler now becomes the player that I’ll keep suggesting until he goes over that threshold. He’s certainly more valuable in leagues where you can take advantage of his eligibility at DL, but even if you can’t, he’s been a lights out fantasy performer in four of the past five games. In that span, he’s had 18 total tackles, eight sacks, a fumble recovery, an interception and a touchdown. Fowler also matched his season-high in snaps this week with 39. The Eagles gave up five sacks to the Cowboys this week despite the blowout victory. Fowler could add to his string of good performances this week.
Calijah Kancey, DE TB, 22%
Kancey has been ramping up his participation after his late start to the season. This week, he made a major impact against the 49ers with five total tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. The Bucs have a bye next week, but Kancey could be a long-term edge rushing option in deeper dynasty leagues and worth a hold through the bye. The 23 year-old has three sacks in the past two weeks.
Jonathon Cooper, EDGE DEN, 32%
Cooper has been one of the top defensive linemen in IDP fantasy football this season, consistently getting to the quarterback while also earning tackles in the run game, including TFLs. This week against Kansas City, he had six tackles (three solo), one for a loss and a sack. He’s been involved in a sack in six of his ten games this season, and he’ll face off against the Falcons next week.
Other Players to Consider: D.J. Wonnum, DE CAR, 16%; Bud Dupree, EDGE LAC, 7%; Keion White, DE NE, 34%; A’Shawn Robinson, DT CAR, 6%; Grover Stewart, DT IND, 11%; Deatrich Wise, DE NE, 8%
Linebackers
DeMarvion Overshown, LB DAL, 31%
Overshown was a lone bright spot in the Cowboys game on Sunday against the Eagles. He had two sacks and eleven tackles, eight of them solo. He suffered a hand injury in the game on Sunday and had to leave the field early, but Cowboys team reporter Patrik Walker said after the game that he should be good to go for next week.

Blake Cashman, LB MIN, 32%
Blake Cashman had been out for the past three games, returning Sunday for five total tackles and his second sack of the season. It was more of a limited role for Cashman than we’re used to, but that was likely to ease him back in after his turf toe injury. He played on 80% of the defensive snaps, so he was able to be that productive on only 35 snaps. Cashman wears the green dot for the Vikings while he’s on the field, so he should have a three-down role going forward, assuming he didn’t suffer a setback.
Jahlani Tavai, LB NE, 28%
Tavai played 100% of the snaps for the Patriots, earning his first sack of the season to go along with eight total tackles. There have been changes everywhere to this defensive unit in New England thanks to trades and injuries, but Tavai remains a constant in the middle. The Patriots play the Rams next week, a tough matchup for linebackers, so Tavai may only be a desperation play in week eleven.
Jack Gibbens, LB TEN, 22%
Jack Gibbens has been a tackle machine for the Titans over the past three weeks. He led the team in tackles for the third straight week, totalling 15 of them (10 solo). The Titans offense is broken, and the defense isn’t much better. They should be on the field for plenty of snaps and Gibbens doesn’t come off the field, providing him plenty of opportunities to get involved in the play.
Other Players to Consider: Devin Bush, LB CLE, 13%; Daiyan Henley, LB LAC, 31%; Anfernee Orji, LB NO, 4%; Cody Barton, LB DEN, 30%; Christian Rozeboom, LB LAR, 21%
Defensive Backs
Jeremy Chinn, S WAS, 35%
There is one glaring option of the defensive back waiver wire this week, and that’s Jeremy Chinn. Chinn is playing all over the field for the Commanders and racking up tackles, so if you can play him as a defensive back you need to take advantage of this situation. He had 12 total tackles for the second straight week. He also recovered a fumble, notched his first interception of the season (and his first since 2021) and played 100% of the defensive stats. He’s having a career renaissance in Washington, and if he is available in your dynasty league he needs to be picked up.
Byron Murphy, CB MIN, 21%
Byron Murphy has been one of the best cornerbacks in the league this year, and lately he’s had a nose for the football when he’s been challenged in the passing game. He doesn’t get too many tackles since he’s such a shutdown corner. He’s only really an option in leagues that value big plays such as interceptions.
Tre’Von Moehrig, S LVR, 26%
Moehrig was one of my top suggestions at DB last week coming off of a 13 tackle game with half a sack. He had a bye this week, but last week’s analysis remains the same. He’s been a very active tackler in the back level of the Raiders defense. It’s also nice to see him getting into the backfield occasionally for a sack opportunity. The Raiders will play the Dolphins this week, who have been one of the most giving offenses to opposing safeties this season.
Other Players to Consider: Jordan Fuller, S CAR, 16%; Tyler Nubin, S NYG, 35%; Xavier Woods, S CAR, 17%; Deommodore Lenoir, CB SF, 29%; Jaylen McCollough, S LAR, 5%; Kamren Kinchens, S LAR, 14%
