The Dynasty Aftermath: Things I Want to See Saquon Barkley Hurdle
Welcome to DLF’s Dynasty Aftermath. This staple article is our longest running signature piece as we have a little fun after a tough week at the Dynasty League Football office. You’ll find this article will review the week’s happenings in a variety of ways and help set you up for the coming weeks as we spin around the league in the way we know best. Expect it each and every week. I’ve written this column for the past eighteen years (I cannot believe I just typed that) and I love it . I enjoy combing through the stats of the week on Monday night, putting together ridiculous lineups, picking MVPs/LVPs and discussing things to worry about.
That’s not all. I also really love sharing observations, little bits of entertainment or some stories with the community of DLF and picking a theme for this column each week. You really never know what you’re going to get.
This week is pretty easy. After watching that insane Saquon Barkley reverse hurdle over a defender, I started thinking of the things I’d love to see him hurdle and this is what I came up with:
1.) Saquon jumping over a miniature Saquon. This is a great warm-up. Plus, I’d love to see Mini-Me Saquon.
2.) Saquon jumping over a velociraptor. This one I’d pay to see and I think he could do it. Not sure what would be more amazing – seeing a live velociraptor or having Saquon leap over it.
3.) How about Saquon jumping over Justin Timberlake. He can bring sexy back all he wants, but my money is on Barkley.
4.) Now to the advanced portion of my wish – a 1964 Chevy Impala. If that thing drives on to the field and Barkley leaps over it, he’s my fantasy MVP.
5.) And now for the grand finale. If I could pick one thing for Saquon to jump over backwards, it’s easy – I’d go with an eight foot giant chicken burrito. I’d love to tell you why, but it’s the first thing that came to my head and I can’t shake it.
It’s certainly a year of surprises. Let’s get to it!
Fantasy MVP of the Week
There was a time when Jaxon Smith-Njigba was regarded as the single best wide receiver prospect in all of college football. After all, he simply looked like the best player on the Ohio State roster that also included players like Chris Olave and Marvin Harrison, Jr. However, the start to his career just hasn’t gone to plan as he’s been decent, but far from a star. This week was markedly different as JSN posted a 7/180/2 gem with DK Metcalf on the shelf. This will likely be his best game all year, but it gives us another glimpse at the talent he has
Fantasy LVP of the Week
I usually don’t add players who get hurt in this column, but this is the best spot to mention Chris Olave, who had just one catch for 13 yards before leaving with another concussion. Olave has now had five documented concussions and two really close to each other. Olave is starting to reach Tua Tagovailoa worry-like levels as this pattern has to change or his career is going to be shortened.

Gut Checks
I’d be worried if I thought Davante Adams was out of the woods.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t looking to cash out on Cade Otton.
I’d be worried if I had given up on Jalen Hurts.
I’d be worried if I needed last year’s numbers from Tyreek Hill.
I’d be worried if I thought Chuba Hubbard was going to just go away.
I’d be worried if I needed vintage Keenan Allen.
I’d be worried if I was ignoring Cedric Tillman.
I’d be worried if I needed consistency from Caleb Williams.
I’d be worried if I thought Kyle Pitts was out of the woods.
I’d be worried if I had Breece Hall as my RB1.
I’d be worried if I was counting on Cole Kmet.
I’d be worried if I was underestimating De’Von Achane.
I’d be worried if I needed those numbers from Patrick Mahomes each week.
I’d be worried if I needed CeeDee Lamb to dominate this month.
I’d be worried if I was ignoring the great play of Darnell Mooney.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t really impressed with Baker Mayfield.
I’d be worried if I sold cheap on Jordan Addison.
I’d be worried if I thought Brock Bowers was going to fade with anyone at quarterback. He’s too good.
I’d be worried if I needed Dak Prescott soon.
I’d be worried if I thought Cooper Kupp wouldn’t have something to say about who wins your league.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t kind of excited about Quentin Johnston.
I’d be worried if I was playing against Derrick Henry.
I’d be worried if I was concerned about Puka Nacua long-term.
I’d be worried if I overvalued Jaylen Warren at the beginning of the year.
I’d be worried if I missed out on Chase Brown.
I’d be worried if I thought I knew what to expect from Mark Andrews.
I’d be worried if I was concerned about Kyler Murray. It was one bad game.
I’d be worried if I was counting on DJ Moore.
I’d be worried if I was ignoring the past couple of games from Courtland Sutton.
I’d be worried if I needed any Tampa Bay running back.

Always check our latest rankings to see the updates throughout the week. These rankings are simply my own.

He’s had some clunkers, but I still like him here.
2.) Malik Nabers, WR NYG
Limited with Jones.
3.) Brock Bowers, TE LV
Like Nabers, what could he be with a better quarterback?

He just continues to have one of the highest floors in regards to rookies in recent memory.

Finally.
6.) Jonathon Brooks, RB CAR
