The Jaguars have placed quarterback Trevor Lawrence on IR.
Read moreWe have officially hit double-digit weeks into the NFL season. That means that now, more than ever, you need to be loading up on depth ready for the playoffs. Injuries have been insane this season (although when aren’t they!) and your contending rosters need to be ready to bring home the big money.
At this point in the year, value is less important than winning. When making trades, you need to be prepared for a complete sunk cost pick - if you trade for a player and they win you your league then retire in the off-season, it was still worth it for what you gained in return.
So with that in mind, here are four players with a real chance to dominate down the stretch due to injuries, current performances, and team situations. Per the DLF Trade Analyzer, they are all available for a late second round pick - a cheap price to pay to bring home your league title!
It’s been a very strange season for D’Andre Swift. He’s currently the RB18 on the year in PPR leagues, but the first three games were a very different story. Swift kicked off the year as the RB43, 32, and 45. That was then followed by finishing as the RB3, 2, 6, 11, and 19. If we take his pace from the first 3 games and extrapolate it across 17, he was on pace to match the RB44 in 2023. In his last five games, he would have been on course to finish as the RB2 in 2023. Quite a stark difference!
However, Swift’s age, name value, and historic underperformance have made him undervalued across dynasty leagues. It feels like he’s a very cheap rental you can acquire who may end up dropping off for next season and beyond, although he is tied to a $7m contract for two more seasons. With that incredible pace, he has a real chance to be a league winner down the stretch, especially with a schedule that sees him play the Vikings and Seahawks in weeks 15 & 17, two teams you can run the ball on.
