In case you are reading this, there is one bit of information to know before you start reading names. Just like last year’s series, we will be utilizing player rostership percentages, courtesy of real dynasty rosters from 1,700 MFL leagues. While this may not be entirely accurate for every individual league, it is very reflective of how managers view who is worthy or not of a roster spot. Now that that’s covered, let’s dive into the waiver wire after Week 5!
Players to double-check availability and immediately add:
To kick things off at running back, we have the guy who has become the better fantasy backup in Houston with Joe Mixon out in Dare Ogunbowale, who just had a tremendous game this week with 87 total yards on 21 touches for 14.7 PPR fantasy points without scoring a touchdown. Now, the unfortunate part with adding Ogunbowale now is that Mixon is likely to be back next week from his injury, so Ogunbowale will go back to being a handcuff and largely irrelevant for fantasy. But, I still think he’s worth a stash in case Mixon were to get hurt again because over the past two weeks, I think Ogunbowale has shown enough to be considered the actual handcuff to Mixon, not Cam Akers.
