Throughout training camp and into the preseason, second-year running back Brown has looked solid. Despite limited work during his rookie season (44 carries, 15 targets) he still averaged over four yards per carry and showed capability as a receiver out of the backfield.
With Zack Moss firmly expected to be the leader of this backfield, Brown slides into that complementary role as a change-of-pace option.
Over the last month, he has risen from RB47 to RB36 in anticipation of him having the secondary role for the Bengals offense. At the very least, Brown should be viewed as a higher-level handcuff behind Moss but may possess some standalone flex appeal based on his deployment.
