Six FFPC Dynasty Startup Draft Values
This off-season, I’ve been playing dynasty on the FFPC (Fantasy Football Players Championship) platform much more than ever before. I’ve knocked out some drafts there already, just started another last week (featuring a Lamar Jackson/Kyler Murray start thank you very much), and have one more dynasty startup kicking off later this week.
For each of these drafts, as I always do when building dynasty teams, I’ve been consulting the monthly ADP data here at Dynasty League Football. As you know, this data is formed each month through several mock drafts. As I was perusing our ADP data, I noticed some significant differences in the FFPC ADP and our numbers. This has allowed me to spot some trends, take advantage of those, and grab some values in all areas of my FFPC dynasty startup drafts.
This is not to say one data set is better or even more trustworthy. Each fantasy football platform offers varying default draft lists and those greatly impact the resulting ADP data. If you’re aware of those gaps before drafting, it can be easy to spot values and build better dynasty teams, which is always the goal.
By comparing FFPC dynasty ADP to our August superflex dynasty ADP, I’ve found two screaming values in each range of the startup draft. Here, I’ve defined the early rounds as the first seven rounds (top-84 players), the mid-rounds as rounds eight through fourteen, and late round as anything beyond round fourteen.
Early Rounds
Baker Mayfield, QB TB
One noticeable trend when comparing the two sets of dynasty ADP was the value gaps at the quarterback position. In general, the quarterback position is devalued on FFPC, especially once you get beyond the high-end fantasy starters. This is evident with Mayfield. While DLF drafters selected the Buccaneers quarterback as the QB21 and 64 overall, on average, he falls all the way to 92 overall on FFPC. Instead of using your sixth-round pick on Mayfield as your QB2, the data suggests waiting until the eighth round is ideal, making Mayfield a value.
