2024 Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update: Johnny Wilson

Rob Willette

The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market.

Situation

Name: Johnny Wilson

Position: Wide Receiver

Pro Team: Philadelphia Eagles

College Team: Florida State (transferred from Arizona State)

Draft Status: Round 6; Pick 185

California native Wilson originally committed to the University of Oregon before flipping to Herm Edwards’ Arizona State Sun Devils late in the recruiting cycle. After limited playing time in two seasons in Tempe – with much of his redshirt freshman year compromised by a hamstring injury – Wilson hit the transfer portal. He ultimately landed at Florida State in a surprisingly quiet portal period. Despite his massive frame and strong recruiting pedigree, Wilson had a tough time finding a good opportunity.
