2024 Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update: Ja’Lynn Polk

Tim Riordan

The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market.

Situation

Name: Ja'Lynn Polk

Position: Wide Receiver

Pro Team: New England Patriots

College Team: Washington

Draft Status: Round 2; Pick 37

Polk hails from East Texas and graduated from the same high school (Lufkin) as Dez Bryant and Keke Coutee. A three-sport athlete (basketball and track), Polk was named third-team All-State as a senior and the district’s Offensive MVP. He caught 54 balls for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns.

He was a three-star recruit out of high school and chose to enroll at Texas Tech for the 2020 season. After he caught 28 balls in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, he transferred to Washington, where he finished out his college career. He essentially replaced Puka Nacua on the roster, as the future Ram transferred to BYU that summer.
