This 2023 rookie class has a fine top shelf of running backs, led by superstar Bijan Robinson and consensus RB2 Jahmyr Gibbs. However, this class has a wide group of solid prospects behind those two battling to cement themselves as the next tier of running backs. Some of the shine might have worn off on Eric Gray, who was seen as one of the top prospects in his class on 247 sports coming out of high school, but he is still a solid player.

Gray struggled during his brief stint at Tennessee but things aligned in 2022 as he found his feet at Oklahoma.

Coming out of high school, Gray received 24 offers from the top football programs in the nation. He had the opportunity to commit to Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, and Ohio State. 247 sports had him as a four-star recruit and 99th overall in their top 100.
