Jacksonville signs Christian Kirk, Evan Engram and Zay Jones: The Dynasty Fantasy Football Impact

Ken Kelly

The Jaguars have been the worst team in the NFL the past two seasons and become the laughing stock of the league as a result, especially after the Urban Meyer experiment blew up in their faces after less than a year. Jacksonville had supposedly saved their franchise when they drafted "can't miss" quarterback Trevor Lawrence last season, but he failed to impress as a rookie and the Jaguars couldn't surround him with enough talent to even have much of a chance. In the first few days of free agency, the Jaguars have been the most aggressive team in the league, throwing around money like nobody's business on both sides of the ball. On offense, they quickly signed Christian Kirk, Evan Engram and Zay Jones. The moves have long reaching impact, so let's break down the players whose values have changed as a result.

Trevor Lawrence, QB JAX

Well, that didn't go as planned. Lawrence endured one of the worst possible rookie seasons last year as his embattled coach was fired midway through and the rudderless offense could never get going. On the year, he was able to throw for just 3,641 yards, with 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Yuck. Lawrence was also sacked a whopping 32 times and simply never looked comfortable. The 334 rushing yards were nice, but much of that was simply him running for his life.
