Dynasty Fantasy Football Six Pack: Week 17 Storylines to Watch

Happy Championship week! If you made it, best of luck. If you did not, well, then do better. I joke. I only made the Championship in three of nine leagues so I understand both sides here. We might have a rebuilding team or a team lost due to injury with no recovery. I am excited to kick off the “off-season” after this week.

Let’s look at six storylines to pay attention to this week.

Benched

Derek Carr has been benched by the Las Vegas Raiders and will take time away from the team for the last two weeks of the season. Jarrett Stidham will make his first career start. Coach Josh McDaniels says he wants to evaluate the position moving forward - yes, with Stidham, who is making his first career start after being drafted in 2019.

On surface level, this move leaves questions. It seems the Raiders are protecting their pockets since Carr has injury guarantees. They are able to move on from the quarterback relatively easily - they will save $23.6m, $36.4m, and $39.4m with his release.

It seems Carr will find a new home in 2023. This makes me wonder, what will happen to Davante Adams?
