Who are some players who still might be available to help you in the fantasy playoffs?

Zonovan Knight

In case you are reading this, there is one bit of information to know before you start reading names. Just like last year’s series, we will be utilizing player rostership percentages, courtesy of real dynasty rosters from 1,700 MFL leagues. While this may not be entirely accurate for every individual league, it is very reflective of how managers view who is worthy or not of a roster spot. Now that that’s covered, let’s dive into the waiver wire after Week 15!

Players to double-check availability and immediately add:

Zonovan Knight, RB NYJ

I don’t know what more Knight needs to do to be rostered in every dynasty league right now. He has had 13 or more rush attempts in all four of his games, plus two or more receptions in three out of four. He has relegated Michael Carter to his previous role with Breece Hall and even though the numbers weren’t there this week, his usage is phenomenal and he gets the Jaguars and Seahawks in the next two weeks. If you just lost Jonathan Taylor or still don’t have a good replacement for Dameon Pierce and Zonovan Knight is still available, he needs to be added and can even go right into your starting lineup.

If you want even more reason to add Knight, he could have this same role again to start the 2023 season depending on Breece Hall’s recovery timeline. So you could have Knight to close out the season this year AND for a couple of weeks to start next year. He needs to be added EVERYWHERE.

Latavius Murray, RB DEN

Another running back whose rostership percentage I don’t understand, Murray is the workhorse running back for the Denver Broncos. Like Knight, he has also had 13+ carries in four of his last five games (only eight carries last week in a negative gamescript against Kansas City). Additionally, Murray has had 20+ touches in three of his last five games. 20+ TOUCHES! AVAILABLE IN 13% OF LEAGUES! WHY!?

Deon Jackson, RB and Zack Moss, RB IND

The last two running backs to add this week come from the unfortunate ankle injury to Jonathan Taylor, which most likely ends his year in a lost season for the Colts. We saw how valuable Jackson was when Taylor was out earlier this season, but Zack Moss came over in the Nyheim Hines trade and saw 24 carries in Taylor’s absence. Jackson did had 13 carries and a receiving touchdown, but the utilization split is not very comforting in terms of who to put your trust in, especially in the playoffs. I think both are great adds, but if I had to choose one, I would go with Jackson for the receiving upside we saw earlier this year and this past week against the Vikings (only one reception but he did score).

Chris Moore, WR HOU

The one receiver to add this week, still widely available in almost 25% of leagues, is Moore. He has been very good the last two weeks without Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins. I honestly doubt we ever see Cooks in a Texans uniform again and Collins hasn’t practiced in two straight weeks. In their places, Moore has seen 20 targets over the last two weeks, including 10 receptions for 124 yards in Week 14. If both starters are out again, Moore is a great flex play in deeper leagues that start 9-11 players just for the usage and PPR value.

Trace McSorley, QB ARI

Ok, I just had to talk about Trace McSorley this week just to say I had the opportunity to talk about him. I am a Penn State alum and huge McSorley fan, so it’s great to see him in meaningful NFL action (though by unfortunate circumstances with injuries). He’s honestly probably not a good pickup, throwing two picks on 15 attempts during the second half, and they play Tampa Bay. I can’t imagine the situation I would have to be in to start McSorley in the fantasy playoffs, but I had to talk about my favorite college quarterback ever.
