In weeks where the majority of studs go off and put up some monster scores, we may need to dig deeper to find some players to buy and sell. Sometimes that can make life easier because some otherwise noteworthy or breakout performances may have gone under the radar.
Jakobi Meyers, WR NE
If I told you there was a wide receiver who was eighth in yards per route run, 20th in targets per route run, and 17th in target share, you'd likely be thinking it is a household name worth a decent amount of capital in a trade. What if I were to go on then and tell you that said player is currently the WR12 in points per game? You'd likely think they're a stud worth, at a minimum, a first-round pick. Why would Carr leave Davante Adams after one year? I find Carr being the “bell of the ball” very unlikely.
The chances are he does stay in Las vegas. However, the raiders could choose to move on from all of their offensive pieces this off-season if they think they’re not a playoff contender with this current core. Waller, Adams and Renfrow could all be cut and save cap space. However, they all have very attractive contracts to be traded. Could the raiders do a full 180 sell adams, carr, waller and renfrow and begin a new chapter? It’s not likely but I think it’s absolutely in the range of outcomes.
