I’m in KC and a season ticket holder, your comments about RoJo are spot on – consider your source. The rumors of him getting cut are being shared by some very connected people here in town, including Arrowhead Pride the top team fan site. I always try to find information from locals instead of national media that just say things with no backing.

RE: Rojo… Plus, in this particular case, I’m not all that enamored with the “source” saying Jones could be the starter by mid-season. Not trying to trash anyone, but I’ve never really gotten a whole lot of useful fantasy football information out of anyone from NFL Network, current or former analysts…

RE: Pacheco… It’s tough to put a whole lot of faith in seventh-round draft capital but I’ve been reading some good things Andy Reid has said about him. Now if the Head Coach is saying some positive stuff about his 7th rounder, that carries a big chunk of weight with me. He could easily dismiss the kid and say “whatever” about Pacheco but Reid has said “the kid’s got some juice”; “You know the kid’s going to run hard. He may have to learn different defensive schemes but he’ll learn that. He runs hard and is a good catcher”.

BTW, his size is the exact same as LaDainian Tomlinson. Now, I’m NOT comparing the two, just mentioning that because way, way back when, in 2001, there was a ton of skepticism around LT as well when he was drafted as in being too small and not tough enough. I don’t know much about Pacheco but maybe he’ll use the “snub” of being drafted in the 7th as motivation to show everyone what he can do. Considering all of the other players we draft that were drafted much higher and bust, I think it’s worthwhile to take a flyer on someone like Pacheco. The KC backfield is more wide open than people might think.

For the record, Ahmad Bradshaw was a 7th round pick! It can happen!

Yeah, and Bradshaw had a run there of 4 years (2009 – 2012), averaging 31 receptions, 1180 total yards, and 8 total touchdowns, where he was certainly serviceable. And I don’t think most are, or at least shouldn’t be, expecting Pacheco to be someone who will wind up in the Hall of Fame. But, like Bradshaw, maybe, just maybe, he could turn out to be a solid, serviceable starter for a few seasons at, for now, is a fairly cheap cost.
