John Metchie entered the 2021 college football season as a top-25 devy prospect and improved upon his receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, though he saw a steep decline in his yards per reception in his junior season.
Once thought of as a top wide receiver prospect in the 2022 class, Metchie was surpassed by teammate Jameson Williams and other prospects. Could he now be a late-round steal in rookie drafts?

Metchie was lightly used as a freshman, only suiting up for four games with just four receptions for 23 yards. He had a better sophomore season with 916 receiving yards, though he failed to reach the 20% Market Share of receiving yards needed to be considered a “breakout”.
