Matt Ryan traded to Indianapolis: The Dynasty Fantasy Football Impact

Ken Kelly

When the Falcons moved long-time quarterback Matt Ryan's roster bonus that was scheduled to post last week to this afternoon instead, it was assumed that was because they were in pursuit of Deshaun Watson and wanted to hold out in case they were able to land him and needed to quickly trade Ryan to avoid paying him his bonus. While that was clearly true, it also opened up some unintended talks with other teams who were interested in trading Ryan, regardless of the Falcons pursuit of Watson. In the end, the Falcons failed to land Watson, but clearly decided it was time to start over anyway and sent Ryan to Indianapolis in exchange for a third round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The move ends an amazing tenure in Atlanta for Ryan, completely resets the Falcons franchise, keeps the Colts in contention and has some far-reaching dynasty ramifications. Let's take a look at the players whose values have changed as a result of this deal.
