2022 NFL Scouting Combine: IDP Dynasty Review

Adam Tzikas

Since the NFL Scouting Combine has wrapped up, we are going to go position by position and break down some of the big performances in Indianapolis this week.

Athleticism is almost more important on the defensive side of the ball compared to offense - players are expected to read and react quickly to what's unfolding in front of them. You may have all the mental processing in the world, but if you can't make a play on the ball or ball carrier it's all for naught.

Defensive Tackles

Jordan Davis, Georgia

Already my top defensive tackle in this class, Davis absolutely crushed the combine, posting a blistering 4.78-second 40-yard dash time while weighing 341 pounds. That is simply incredible, and while it's not often that defensive tackles are running 40 yards in a straight line, the overall speed showcases something that is important -  a fast 10-second split. Davis clocked a 1.68 10-second split, which is 95th percentile at the position, but this data includes smaller tackles. He also has a 33-inch vertical leap, which is sort of insane for a person this large.
