Twitter Observations: Amon-Ra St. Brown Breaks Out, Allen Robinson Breaks Down

It’s Championship Week for most dynasty players. And while there are no more major roster moves to be made, there are still tweets to favorite for when you start working on your off-season checklist. Below are a few of those to get you started.
Robinson Empire
Wow. Allen Robinson said he lost 10 pounds when he got the coronavirus and is still trying to feel normal.
— Patrick Finley (@patrickfinley) December 28, 2021
As if the 2021 season wasn’t enough of a disaster for Allen Robinson, his COVID diagnosis and subsequent recovery were just the icing on the cake. He’ll be on the field for at least week 17 but for Robinson dynasty owners, it’s much too late. He just can’t be trusted for those in their league championships. In games he has played, he’s averaging just three receptions for 35 yards and has scored just once all season. It’s best to look ahead to 2022 when it comes to Robinson.
Dynasty Impact: After his injury/COVID-plagued 2021 season, you would think it couldn’t get much worse for Robinson in 2022.
But it actually might get worse. Robinson is a free agent after the season ends and it’s anyone’s guess where he will end up. The Bears have an heir for the top receiver title in Darnell Mooney, who has developed a good rapport with quarterback Justin Fields.
If anything, Robinson might be in the market for a ‘prove it’ deal with a team. He’ll be 29 and looking to show teams that the Robinson from just a year ago – one in which he caught 102 balls for 1,250 yards – is still in there.
For dynasty purposes, his value is still showing a first-round rookie pick but that will change when the season ends. If you can get that for him, absolutely do it. If not, you might as well hold until we get clarity on his situation. And hope for the best.
Upside St. Brown
Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown's last four games:
– 10 catches, 86 yards, TD
– 8 catches, 73 yards
– 8 catches, 90 yards, TD
– 9 catches, 91 yards, TDSt. Brown joins Odell Beckham, Jr. as the only rookies in NFL history with at least 8 catches in 4 straight games.

Even before the hot streak Amon-Ra St. Brown has been in the last month, he would have been considered a good value. Taken in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, St. Brown was then taken primarily in the middle-to-late second-round of dynasty rookie drafts and was regularly seeing targets in the anemic Lion offense.
But then, as the tweet above mentioned, St. Brown blew up and was a legitimate WR1 in PPR formats during the fantasy playoffs. No matter what happens the rest of the way, or even next year, dynasty managers will remember.
Dynasty Impact: With no other receivers in Detroit (for now), St. Brown is in the driver’s seat for a huge role in 2022. His current dynasty ranking won’t reflect what it will be by the time the off-season starts. He’ll be a solid WR3 and might even be a WR2 depending on how high fantasy managers are on him. But is he worth that? As a team, the Lions’ offense is bottom-five in offensive DVOA. There’s a good chance the people leading it now (coordinator Anthony Lynn, quarterback Jared Goff) won’t be there next year. Then it’s a guessing game and another gamble that the offense will be led by a competent coach and quarterback.
For dynasty purposes, if you can get something better than he was drafted for in 2021 (i.e. the middle or end of the second round), I would pull the trigger. That would mean a late first or early second for a Detroit Lions receiver. No matter who it is right now, that’s a steal.
Will there be Less Moore in Dallas?
Jaguars have requested permission to interview both Cowboys coordinators, DC Dan Quinn and OC Kellen Moore for their HC job, per league sources.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) December 28, 2021
The fact that Kellen Moore is in high demand is not surprising. The Dallas Cowboys currently rank first in points scored this season and their offense is in the top eight in offensive DVOA. The only other year where Moore was coordinator and they had a healthy Dak Prescott for the whole season – 2019 – the Cowboys finished second in offensive DVOA. And while we can’t yet infer that Moore is headed to Jacksonville, there is a good chance that he’ll be somewhere other than Dallas next season as a head coach.
Dynasty Impact: Let’s take a look at the two players who have gained the most dynasty value in Moore’s tenure, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.
Should we be concerned if Moore leaves the Cowboys? In Prescott’s case, I would say no. He’s proven to be one of the best at his position, will be just 29 next year (a baby in quarterback years), and is signed long-term.
Lamb may be a different story. His value will see an increase if/when either Amari Cooper or Michael Gallup leave Dallas but whoever is the next coordinator may have a different approach that doesn’t rely on Lamb as much. Right now, Lamb is a top-five dynasty receiver and worth multiple first-round picks. If Moore were to leave, I couldn’t blame you for cashing in on your Lamb shares to fill out the rest of your dynasty roster.
Sony Hack
Sony Michel leads the NFL in rushing, forced missed tackles, 10-yard runs and first downs since Week 13. He's a big reason the Rams went 4-0 in Dec.
Even with Cam Akers back, McVay should stick to his philosophy of riding the hot hand https://t.co/HzwX66hF9T
— Cameron DaSilva (@camdasilva) December 29, 2021
Let’s be clear – it took some luck to get Sony Michel to this point. First was Cam Akers (seemingly) season-ending injury before the season got started. Then there was an injury to his replacement Darrell Henderson. It led to the last month of production for Michel which has seen him average over 20 carries a game, over 100 rushing yards a game and score twice on the ground. A lot of dynasty teams are thanking Michel right now as they prepare for their championship games.
Dynasty Impact: It’s not unreasonable to expect Michel to be part of the Rams running attack next year. He’s earned it with the run he’s on and the Rams would prefer to have a backup to incumbent Akers as the latter returns from an Achilles injury. According to the DLF Trade Analyzer, Michel is currently worth a third-round rookie pick. If you have Akers on your roster, giving up a third-round rookie pick for what looks like his immediate backup in the off-season would be a wise investment.
